Hustler | Pt.3
Pairing: Rintarō Suna x f!reader
Prompt/summary: Fights were never planned, but neither was Suna’s confession. His admittance to you that something was wrong the night that Matsukawa was over with the two of you. After a whirlwind of emotions between wishing you could get the man to tell you the truth, then regretting ever bringing up the other man again, you finally landed on being glad that you had forced Suna to open up. It was a rare occurrence, but you cherished the times he told you his secrets. A quiet night in has more in store for you than you ever thought it might with your stubborn and closed-off Aquarius friend
Word count: 7.2K
Warnings/contents: Partial smut: Pussy penetration, grinding, pinch of clit stimulation. Kissing, strong language, fluff, pinch of angsty themes with an argument mid-sex, slow burn themes, friends with benefits to lovers theme, 18+
Notes: I had a couple of people tell me that they weren’t sure how this series was going to end and they were really excited to see what I came up with. Truthfully, beyond the first couple hundred words, I had no idea what I was going to do either. This chapter was a sort of improvisation as it went along, unlike the other two that were more thoroughly planned out. So all-in-all, this chapter was more spontaneous and how I felt in the moment like most of my stories are. It still fully connects, but I didn’t want to drop off in words either with how long the other stories were. I felt happy with 7K and I think that it was set up in a nice place to end it. I hope that you all agree as well!
Part 1 (Hustler Pt.1) | Part 2 (Hustler Pt.2) | Part 3 (current chapter)
<>~<>~<>
A soft moan came from you as Suna kissed your neck, humming as your hands went through his soft hair and gently tugged on it. You looked up, flushing as you made eye contact with yourself in the mirror that was on the ceiling of his new apartment. When he’d put it in, he said he wanted to be the first person he saw in the morning, though he happened to fall asleep on his side or stomach a lot which made it that much funnier to you. The soft purple glow of the LED lights only added to the moment as his lips pressed gently along your neck, his teeth just barely nibbling on your skin.
It was almost hard for you to imagine that less than a week ago, you had gotten so roughly fucked by the man while his business partner was with you two. With how gentle he was being with you now, it almost felt like a vivid dream, but how sore you had been the next couple of days had reminded you of how real it was.
Suna gave your neck one final kiss before he pulled back a little ways and slid his hands up into your slim fitting tank-top that had already showed him how hard your nipples were. Without a word, you sat up with him and lifted your arms, helping him take the clothing off of you. He licked his lips at the sight of your bare breasts, hickey’s still covering your perky chest that he went back in to kiss and suck on gently again. Suna gave one of the largest hickey’s that he’d given you that night a soft suck, his hand cupping around your other breast and teasing your nipple with his fingers in the meanwhile.
Slowly, you relaxed back onto the soft bed. Suna followed your movements, his hands never leaving your breasts as he softly kissed them, though once you were fully laid back on the bed, he cupped his hands around both of them and leaned down uncomfortably so that he could burrow his face between them as he pushed them together. You gave a soft hum, watching the man and biting down on your lip.
His lips grazed over a mark that Matsukawa had left on your skin, pulling back to look at the hickey and then at you.
“Did you like Matsukawa?” He suddenly asked, snapping you out of your trance as your eyes slowly lagged shut.
“Did I like him?” You asked, frowning. “What do you mean, like… in general?” You asked, though he gave a soft shake of his head. “Oh, like… in bed?” He nodded as you thought for a second. “I mean, I- I guess.” You shrugged beneath the man, but it didn’t seem to satisfy him.
“Did you like him more than me?” He asked, watching your eyebrows furrow inwards as you shook your head.
“No, I didn’t.” Suna leaned in, his lips gently pressing to yours, but he pulled back almost as soon as the kiss had begun.
“Did he feel better than me when he was marking up these pretty tits of yours?” Again, you shook your head and looked at the man. “Did you like choking on his dick more than mine?” You shook your head, but gave a huff soon afterwards.
“Why are you asking me all of these questions? It’s been a week.” Suna gave his shoulders a shrug and looked at your breasts instead of your eyes.
“It was just weird.” He said, leaning in and starting to gently kiss your neck. “I didn’t think that he was going to come into the room like that.” You wrapped your arms around the man again, your nails gently sliding along his bare back while he sucked gently on your skin.
“Did you not like it? That he was there, I mean.” You clarified, thinking back to how much more quiet the man had been that night than he ever had been with you. Of course, at the time you had thought that it was simply because he was so different around Matsukawa to begin with, but now you were second guessing your previous thought.
“No.” He said without hesitation, kissing your jaw gently.
“I guess… I thought that maybe… that was what you wanted.” You said as the man slowly kissed along your jaw and towards your mouth.
“It wasn’t.” He pressed a kiss to the corner of your mouth, his eyes still closed as he leaned in to kiss your lips, but you stopped him as you spoke again.
“Are you mad at me?” He stopped, pulling back and opening his eyes to look down at you, his eyebrows furrowing inwards in confusion.
“No, why would I be?”
“Well… I was kind of the one who let Matsukawa come in after all.” You said and Suna gave a soft sigh at you. “I thought that you wanted it and that was why you had brought it up— to prove to him that we weren’t dating.”
“I don’t really give a fuck if he thinks that we’re dating anymore.” He said, leaning down and gently pressing his lips to yours. “But I’m not mad at you. Sorry that you thought I was.” He said, kissing your cheek. “Was it bothering you?” He asked, sort of confusing you before he quickly clarified. “That he didn’t believe us when we said that we weren’t dating.”
“Oh— a little bit,” you said. “But I guess I can realistically see where he was coming from. After all, you don’t like many people.” Suna gave a soft snicker and leaned in, nuzzling his head against your shoulder and relaxing down on top of you.
“I guess you’re right.” He said with a light sigh, giving your neck a soft kiss. “But still, you’d think that Matsukawa would believe me after how long I’ve known him.” He huffed.
“Really?” You asked, genuinely confused as to why he would think that. “You lie, like, a lot. Just for fun sometimes.” You said, making the man snicker. “I’m not surprised he didn’t believe me because he didn’t even know me.” Suna hesitated for a second, a lingering question on his mind that he was certain he didn’t want to know the answer to.
“When Matsukawa went to bring you your clothes did he… did he stick around?” The man asked in a hesitant way.
“No, he left right afterwards.” You said, gently rubbing the man’s tense shoulders. “Why?”
“I just thought that he might stay around.” Suna mumbled, nuzzling closer to you. “He acted like he wasn’t done.”
“Well, if he wasn’t done then he didn’t say anything to me.” You said, and while you knew that there was a sense of hesitancy in the other man, you didn’t want to bring it up. After all, it was done and over with, why cause problems where problems didn’t need to be caused? “Maybe he was just weirded out. I don’t really know him, but he seemed uncomfortable.”
“Then he shouldn’t have joined.” Suna said simply. “It’s not like I wasn’t going to fuck you either way.” He pressed a soft kiss to your neck and pushed himself up to look down at you. “Besides, it was just Matsukawa. He always acts weird.”
“Does he?”
“Well, sort of.” Suna shrugged it off, leaning down and kissing you again. “I don’t want to talk about him anymore.” He said, kissing you right afterwards. You gave into the kiss, wondering if the conversation would be picked up later even though you knew that it most likely wouldn’t be. It was a miracle that he’d talked about it this much with how little he cared about sharing how he felt about things, so even if it was minuscule, you’d take it for the most part.
Suddenly, Suna started to gently grind himself against you, his obvious erection pressing to your clit over the thin underwear that you wore. Since you were supposed to be spending the night with the man, you had brought comfortable sleeping pajama pants that almost matched his own gray plaid ones, though you had been too warm beneath the covers and he hadn’t been opposed to you taking the clothing off in the slightest.
You knew Suna, that was why you knew just where this was going before he’d even taken your shirt off. Of course you’d come to his apartment tonight fully prepared to have sex with the man. Even if the two of you didn’t have sex every single time that you saw each other, it was still a frequent occurrence. You gave a soft sound against Suna’s lips as he rubbed against your clit, not taking his time when it came to teasing you.
Like before, you pushed your hands up into his soft hair as you turned your head into the kiss, keeping the man close even though you knew he wasn’t going to pull away. Suna held himself up on his hands, pressing a knee between your legs and giving a content sigh against your mouth. Without anything said between the two of you, Suna reached down, his fingers reaching into his pants and sliding his dick out.
Knowing what he was doing, you broke the kiss and shifted beneath the man, bringing one of your legs further up off the mans waist while he pulled your underwear to the side. Suna’s lips pressed to your neck as he started to rock himself inside of you, earning a moan from you as you grabbed onto the man’s shoulder with one hand and your leg to keep it out of his way with the other.
The man on top of you pressed his lips back to yours as he started to slowly rock himself inside of you at a steady pace, making your toes curl at the way that he stretched you out in such a familiar way. Suna was big— bigger than anyone else that you’d ever had sex with up until Matsukawa. You swore the two had to be almost the same size, though through the months of having sex with the man, you were used to how it felt to have a thick, lengthy cock rammed inside of you.
You thought back as Suna slowly thrusted inside of you, remembering how hard he’d slammed himself inside of you damn near immediately when the two of you were with Matsukawa. With a soft frown, you broke the kiss and kept the man close so he wouldn’t leave you to kiss your neck.
“Rin?” He gave a soft hum in response, a low sound coming from him right afterwards as he moved inside of you. “How come you were in such a weird mood around Matsukawa in the bedroom?” A soft groan came from the man, though not in pleasure as he pulled back a little bit to look at you.
“I told you I didn’t want to talk about him anymore.” He said, though you decided to challenge his soft frown with a deeper one of your own.
“But I do.”
“If you want to talk about him so bad then why don’t you go talk to him?” He asked with a tone you didn’t frequently hear from the man. Suna was agitated, that much was obvious even as he continued to move inside of you. Despite what he said, it wasn’t an offer and you knew he wasn’t going to let you leave, let alone to see Matsukawa.
“This is exactly what I’m talking about— I thought Matsukawa was your friend and business partner, why do you get so weird around him?” You asked. “The whole fake tired thing, claiming you wanted to get rid of him, inviting him to join and obviously hating it—” You gave him enough reasons to help clarify, though you only earned a deeper frown from the man in return.
“I just don’t like the way that he was with you, alright?”
“What, nicer than you?” You asked with a soft scoff. Suna stopped, his eyebrows twitching though it didn’t look like he was annoyed. “I didn’t mean that.” You were quick to say, not used to seeing him so phased by what you retorted back to him. Sure, the two of you argued maybe once or twice before seriously, though normally your arguments were playful fights. Suna was hardheaded, and as hardheaded as you could be in return, making the man upset didn’t seem worth it.
“What do you want from me?” He asked quietly. “You want me to tell you that I didn’t like Matsukawa being there because I’ve been in love with you this whole time or something?” He asked in a harsh way that made your chest ache for a reason you didn’t want to admit to even yourself let alone out loud; despite how little you wanted to realize it, you did like the hustler you’d met 7 months ago in a bar when you got stood up on a date.
“No,” you said, trying to steady your voice even as his tone had affected you.
“Then just shut up about it, it’s over. Matsukawa isn’t even here anymore.” He frowned down at you in an aggravated way and it made you wish you hadn’t brought the subject up as you clenched your jaw and looked away from the man.
“Fine. It’s over.” You mumbled, knowing that he was still eyeing you with that same agitated look before he gave a soft sigh and moved away from you.
“I’ll be back.” Was all he said, adjusting his pants and walking out of the room. You sat up, giving a soft sigh as you peeked over towards the door and rubbed your eyes.
Truth be told, what were you hoping to come from this conversation? You had no idea. You never pressured the man when it came to admitting why he was aggravated or annoyed with things, maybe that was why he had reacted this way or maybe that was why your feelings were hurt. Still refusing to admit it in your mind that you did want him to tell you that the reason he didn’t want Matsukawa there was because he was jealous and liked you back, you pulled your knees up to your chest and fiddled with your thumbs.
“Shouldn’t have said anything,” you mumbled beneath your breath to yourself. “Everything tonight was so great. Why’d you go and ruin it?” You sighed and placed your head in your hands for a moment before moving to put on your tank-top that was fallen to the floor. Being naked wasn’t exactly how you wanted to feel comforted right now, however the main way you wanted to be comforted nowadays had just stormed out of the room half-naked and frustrated because of a simple question.
Sitting back on the edge of the bed, you wondered if you should leave; if things might be awkward for the rest of the night with the solemn man who didn’t speak unless he felt like it and could ignore somebody, as you’d seen in others, for as long as he felt like ignoring them. He was petty in a way that rivaled even your own pettiness.
Much to your surprise, you heard the floorboards creak by the door much sooner than you expected. You looked over, seeing Suna walking into the room with his head down as he walked towards the bed.
Biting your tongue in a way you’d never do for somebody else, you looked at the man as he sat on the edge of the bed with you and went to speak.
“I’m sorry that I brought him up again after you told me that you didn’t want to talk about it.” You apologized. “I’ll respect it this time if you don’t kick me out.” Suna rubbed his eyes and gave a little sigh as he shook his head. “What do you want me to do, Rin? Do you want me to go?”
“No.” He said quietly. “No. I don’t want you to go.” He finished beneath his breath, looking down at his hands. “Sorry I’m such an asshole, (y/n). I overreacted about the Matsukawa thing.” Fully expecting to leave the man’s apartment saddened and full of regret tonight, you looked at him with a look of confusion and a hint of desperateness on your face.
“I just want to understand.” You said softly. “I didn’t mean to upset you.” With a clenched jaw, though not in an angry seeming way, Suna looked over at you. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t,” he whispered softly. “Don’t apologize. That just makes me a bigger fucking asshole.” You felt the urge to apologize again but bit your tongue as he continued to look at you. Softly, the man gave his head a shake. “You don’t deserve this, so why the hell are you still here waiting around for me?” He asked, sounding genuinely confused.
“Because, believe it or not, I rather like you.”
“Well, you shouldn’t.”
“But that doesn’t stop it, now does it?” With a soft scoff that almost sounded like a laugh in disbelief beneath his breath, Suna spoke again.
“You could be out there falling in love with anybody, so why do you waste your time with me?” You wondered if he already knew that you were feeling something different towards the man, but you left it in the air as you spoke again.
“Because you were the first person aside from my other friend that’s ever been nice to me. I don’t care if all you see yourself as is a lousy asshole, because that’s not what you are.” This time, Suna did give a laugh in disbelief.
“When you met me, you sure thought I was a lousy asshole.”
“Opinions can change, can’t they?” He was quiet for a moment before he spoke again.
“This one shouldn’t have.” He whispered in a pitiful way.
“But I’m glad that it did.” Suna gave a gentle shake of his head that you almost didn’t see as you swore he leaned closer to you.
“You’re so stupid.” He whispered again, his gaze quickly flicking to your lips before he spoke again. “You should be careful somebody doesn’t take advantage of you.”
“I guess if it were you, I wouldn’t really complain.”
“What is it with you?” He asked softly. “You’re always being stupid. You should just leave. I think you know a guy like me can’t do you any good even if I did like you.” You were hesitant before you spoke.
“And you do?” He raised an eyebrow at your unclear words. “Like me?”
“Of course I do.” You thought about his words and wondered what he meant, though you quickly decided that he meant he liked you in a friendly way. After all, Suna had kept you around for months now, nearing a year before you know it. He wouldn’t keep you around if he thought you weren’t a good friend, right? “But I don’t want to give you the wrong impression.”
“It’s not like I think you like me as more than a friend or anything.” You said, but he was quick to give a shake of his head.
“That’s just it, (y/n),” he said beneath his breath, still looking at you yet speaking so soft you almost didn’t hear him. “You don’t know how many times I’ve thought about calling you and asking you on a date instead of bringing you to my warehouse and now the apartment.” He said with a soft shake of his head. “You don’t know how many times I’ve thought that I could trust you and that I should be open with you, but I don’t want to.”
“You don’t have to be then. You can tell me things whenever you want, I don’t want to or mean to pressure you into talking about things you don’t want to.” You thought back to the few scattered things from his past Suna had told you and wondered if he felt pressured to before he shook his head again.
“That’s not what I meant.” He said. “I want to be open with you,” he clarified quickly, though he kept talking before you could get a word in, “I just… I don’t want to hurt you.”
“What makes you think you could break my heart so easily?”
“I don’t want to risk it.” He said, looking down at his hands. “Being friends with you is the healthiest relationship I’ve ever had. You got me that present for Christmas and I haven’t been able to fucking stop thinking about it since.” He said honestly. “It’s just little things. Being patient with me and making me feel so comfortable so fast.” He mumbled. “There’s just something about you and I couldn’t help how fast I started to like you. I thought about getting rid of you because I was worried, but I couldn’t fuckin’ do it. Every time I tried to ignore your messages I just couldn’t help but respond. I want to be around you because you make me feel welcome in a world that I’ve never felt welcome in.” You stared at the man in awe as he spoke, shocked that he was opening up to you. Suna was anything but open and vulnerable, even as you’d known him for awhile now he’d been closed off when he told you things. “I just can’t let you go.” He mumbled.
“You don’t have to,” you said softly. “I’m not planning on leaving you any time soon. I care about you, Rintarō. And I know that opening up is hard for you, but if it’s me getting scared off that you’re worrying about, you can stop. I want you to want me to care about you, I want you to want to open up to me. I want you to feel comfortable around me. I don’t want you to feel like you’re not important to me, because you are. Maybe other people disappointed you or said you disappointed them, but I want you to feel welcome and wanted around me.”
“I just don’t get it.” He said, finally looking back at you and shocking you as his eyes were sad and you swore there were tears building up in them. “I’m not that nice. I’m not fun like you are, I’m not polite like Matsukawa is, I’m not healthy like other people are. I’m a distant, grumpy, asshole of a fucked up guy and I don’t deserve your attention. I don’t think that I’ll hurt you, you’re stronger than I ever could be, but I don’t want to lose you because I tell you that fucking around isn’t enough because you got me. Because I tell you that I really did like you all along and I was just fucking jealous.” He looked away and gave a little sniffle. “Look at me, I’m a fuckin’ mess. You deserve somebody who can take care of you, I won’t do anything but let you down.”
“You’ve never let me down before.”
“But this is different. It’s not just some friend letting you down.” Carefully, you scooted closer to the man and gently rested your hand down on top of his.
“Rintarō, you’re not some disappointment of a human being.” You said softly. “I know that you have struggles— I do, too. That doesn’t make you less of a person. You shouldn’t talk yourself down like this, you don’t deserve it and I don’t want to listen to it. We’re not just acquaintances, and if you’re jealous of Matsukawa then… you’re jealous of Matsukawa and we don’t have to talk about him.”
“You deserve an explanation.”
“What you gave me is explanation enough.” Suna looked to you, a soft frown on his face as he looked miserable— hurt was more like it. “Simple things are what you deserve. Rin… if you’re worried of my feelings changing about you then it’s pointless. I think you know better than I even want to, but… you say that I got you, but you got me, too.” You said with a little sigh. “I’m not saying I want to marry you and have a house with a white picket fence and kids by the time we’re 30, but if you’re a mess I’m more than happy to be a mess with you.” Suna placed his hand down on yours, looking at your hands.
“I don’t want to drag you down here with me.” You thought for a moment before leaning in and resting your head on his shoulder.
“Then come with me and we go somewhere else.” Suna was quiet for a moment before he moved his hand, bringing it up to your chin and making you look at him.
“Are you sure that you want to do this?” He asked softly. “Maybe it won’t be me hurting you, but… if you’re not sure then I don’t want you to stay here with me.” He said softly. “If you do then I’m gonna get hurt and I don’t want to get hurt anymore than I want to let you go.” Gently, you reached your hand up and cupped his cheek, leaning in to press your forehead to his with your eyes closed.
“I’ve never been so sure.” A shaky exhale left the man in front of you as he leaned into you. “I promise that I won’t leave you and hurt you.” You whispered so softly that you weren’t sure if the man heard. It was a promise to both you an himself, so you didn’t care if he heard it or not, but he replied anyways.
“I won’t hurt you either.” He promised as softly as you had. “I’ll… I’ll trust you if you’ll trust me, too.” You smiled a bit and pressed a soft kiss to the mans lips.
“Consider you trusted.” Suna slid his fingers through your own, leaning down and pressing his head to your shoulder while he held tightly onto your hand. You brought your free hand around his shoulder, hugging the man who wrapped an arm around you back. It felt silent forever before the man finally squeezed you tighter in his arms when you thought that he might pull back. You gave him a light squeeze, wanting his advances to feel as returned as you could make them feel.
It was quiet between the two of you for a moment, a silent and verbal promise made as he snuggled close to you and you tried to keep the man comfortable in your arms. Ultimately, you were happy that you had brought up Matsukawa again. As much as you regretted it at first and as much as you’d wished you’d bitten your tongue, now that Suna was back in your arms, you couldn’t have been more happy.
<>~<2 months later>~<>
The bed beneath you felt more comfortable than ever before as you laid back with a sigh, tired after a long day and barely taking the time to undo your jeans after stripping your work shirt off and leaving you in your tank-top and bra. A soft snicker came from your boyfriend as he got on the bed and rested on your hips.
“Tired?” He asked with a little smile that you were quick to return.
“Exhausted.” Suna leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to your lips before he moved.
“Let me help you,” he offered innocently, starting to slide your work pants off. You lifted your hips to help the man with a soft “Thank you” beneath your breath. He folded the pants up neatly and sat them on the edge of the bed before laying beside you with both of your legs dangling off the bed, though his much more because of how tall he was. “Long day?”
“Long week.” You said with a yawn, moving onto your side and bringing your knee up and onto Suna. The man brought a chilled hand down and placed it on your leg, keeping you close as he pressed a kiss to your head when you snuggled into him.
“Good thing it’s the weekend.” He said, gently rubbing your arm. “Speaking of the weekend, Matsukawa and I have a business trip across Japan to go to that we’re planning on starting Sunday. Sorry it’s such late notice, he just got back to me on when he can go.”
“No worries,” you said with a yawn as you snuggled closer to your comforting boyfriend even if his touch was cold. “Planning on scheming young college students out of their money this early in the year, huh?” Suna gave a little chuckle and nuzzled closer to you.
“You know how it is.” You gave a soft hum beneath your breath and pressed your hand flat to his abs over the shirt that he wore, gently tracing the outline of them over his shirt with your thumb. “You gonna be okay alone for a couple weeks?”
“I made it this long, I think I can go a couple of weeks.” You said with a laugh, though after a moment of thinking, you quickly pushed yourself up onto your arm and looked down at the man with a soft frown. “Wait, how long exactly is a couple of weeks— because last time you said a couple of weeks a few weeks ago, it was only about one and a half weeks, but the other time you said a couple weeks you were gone for almost a month.” Suna gave a soft chuckle at you, reaching his hand up and gently cupping your face in it.
“A couple weeks as in I get back 2 Sunday’s from when I leave.” He said, watching your eyebrows furrow inwards. “What, is that too long for you to be away from me?” He teased, making you give a roll of your eyes even if you knew that you were going to miss the man like crazy by time he got home.
“No, shut up…” You mumbled, making him give another laugh as he laid his head back on the bed.
“Come here.” He said with a smile still on his face, holding his arms out for you. You leaned in immediately, nuzzling close to the man who kissed your head again like the last time you snuggled this close to him, though you wrapped your leg further around the man this time. “It’ll be okay. I’ll call you all of the time.” He promised, rubbing your exposed shoulders gently.
“And what if Matsukawa teases you for calling me so much, hmm?” You asked in a teasing way. Unlike before, Suna didn’t tense when you spoke the other man’s name and instead he gave a soft laugh.
“Matsukawa can get fucked, I think it’s time he finds out.” He said simply. “After all, this time you really are my girlfriend so it won’t annoy me that he doesn’t believe me.”
“What if he doesn’t believe you when you say that I am your girlfriend?” Suna hesitated for a second before frowning in a way you wouldn’t see.
“I swear, that sounds just like something fucking Matsukawa would do.” You gave a laugh, pressing your head close to his chest and laughing against his shirt. “Whatever, if he doesn’t believe me then he doesn’t believe me. And if he thinks we lied and we’ve been dating this whole time, he can think that. I’d have been a lucky guy to just swallow my pride and tell you that I liked you before I went and got jealous of Matsukawa.” You gave a soft laugh and pressed a kiss to the mans neck.
“At least you finally gave it up and admitted it to me in the end.” Suna gave a little smile and ran his fingers along your back over the tank-top that you wore.
“Thank god for that.”
Soft snoring by your ear slowly woke you from your sweet dreams. With a soft groan, you shifted on the bed, a warm arm over you keeping you close. A small smile etched onto your face as you nuzzled closer to the man beside you, amazed at how warm he was feeling; Suna typically ran cold with chilled fingers that you just couldn’t help but wanting to hold onto.
You laid silently for a few more moments with the man before you stretched out your body and reached up to rub your eyes. You thought back to last night, trying to remember why Suna spent the night and what time he had to leave. You remembered him mentioning that Matsukawa lived closer to you than he did to Suna, so he thought that it would be better if Matsukawa could get him from your house this morning and he had the ability to stay one more night with you this weekend before leaving on this bright Sunday morning.
As you moved on the bed, Suna slowly woke up, giving a soft grunt in discontent as the sun shined into the room and buried his face against your neck.
“Too bright,” he mumbled out in complaint against your skin. You yawned, reaching your hand up to play with his soft and messy hair. “Turn it off.” Hesitating, you fought back a little laugh at the man.
“Turn off the sun?” Suna was quiet for a moment before he hesitantly pushed himself up and squinted hard.
“It’s morning already?” He asked. You gave a nod and looked beside you, seeing the alarm clock lighting up the time.
“It’s almost 9:40.” Suna sighed, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
“I don’t wanna go.” He said like a kid who as being forced to get up early to head to school.
“Well, it’s a business trip,” you said, sitting up along with the man. “It’ll be fun.” He raised an eyebrow at you.
“Are you coming?”
“No.”
“Then it won’t be fun.” He plopped back on the bed, stealing your pillow that was previously beneath your head and placing it over his face with a groan. “I don’t want to go,” he said again, making you laugh.
“Come on, you should shower before Matsukawa gets here.” You said, giving his leg a pat. Your boyfriend peeked out from beneath the pillow at you.
“Will you shower with me?”
“No.” Suna gave another groan and pushed the pillow onto his face. “Hurry, he’s gonna get here before you know it.” You said, getting out of the comfortable bed and walking to your closet. Suna’s bags were already by the door, though he left a small one in your bathroom with his toothbrush. Since awhile back he’d left shampoo at your house after staying the night on several occasions, it was always in your shower for him.
You grabbed a change of clothes and went to the bathroom while Suna forced himself up out of your bed. You stretched your arms quickly out over your head with a final yawn before grabbing your toothbrush. Dreadfully, your boyfriend trudged into the room and stripped his shirt off, carelessly tossing it aside. You knew he’d pick it up when he finished in the shower, he always did, though this morning you planned on doing it yourself.
By time you finished brushing your teeth, your boyfriend was already in the shower, standing there staring at the water when you peeked back at him through the glass door. You stifled a laugh at him and leaned against the counter.
“Don’t forget to actually do shower things, like, y’know, wash your hair.” You teased, earning a playfully annoyed look from your boyfriend that made you laugh. Quickly changing your clothes while Suna started to wash his hair, you grabbed his sleeping clothes and brought them with you, knowing that they were destined for the dirty hamper now. Occasionally you found some of Suna’s clothes in your own and you’d gotten a call from him on several different occasions saying that he was folding your shirts or pants and wondered when he should come bring them to you.
As annoying as some people found it, you had always thought it was rather endearing to find his clothes in your own dirty hamper.
You walked out of your bedroom, glancing down the hall at your roommates closed door. She was gone for this whole weekend and you were supposed to water her numerous plants for her while she was out with her boyfriend in the islands for a few days. Another reason Suna spent the night here— she wasn’t around to interrupt your snuggling sessions.
The shower turned off shortly after you got to the kitchen, opening your fridge and getting an apple. You weren’t too hungry but you didn’t want to wait around and be angry or easily annoyed because you hadn’t eaten by time lunch came around. You got a knife, washing the apple and carefully starting to cut it. Slice by slice, you set pieces down, occasionally eating one and giving a soft hum at how good it tasted.
Warm arms wrapped around your waist, gently pulling you back against the man who snuck up behind you, though you didn’t so much as flinch. You smiled and relaxed against the man who pressed a familiar kiss to your shoulder.
“I still don’t want to go.” You set the knife down when you finished cutting the apple and reached over for the trash can, tossing the core away and drying your hands off as you spoke.
“I know, but it’s for the best.” You said simply. “Think of all the spare money you’ll make. It’ll be good to get away from this place anyways for awhile.” You said, making the man give a small frown as he nuzzled closer to you.
“Nobody said I wanted to leave you though.” He sighed. “One day, we should just leave this place together and move somewhere better.”
“Agreed,” you turned in the mans arms and wrapped your own around his shoulders, bringing him down for a soft, quick kiss. “But for now, we need money to live and support our own bougie life-styles.” You said, making the man give a little laugh.
“You’re right.” He said. Suna picked you up suddenly, making you give a sound in shock as you clung to the man who gently set you down on the counter and got closer to you. Slowly, Suna leaned in, though not kissing you like you thought he might. Instead Suna pressed his forehead to yours and gave a little sigh as you placed your hand on top of his on the counter beside your legs.
“I’m gonna miss you.” He whispered, making you smile.
“I’ll miss you, too.” You said, reaching up to brush his hair back before pressing a kiss to his nose. “It’ll be over before you know it.” You promised, trying to keep the spirits high since he didn’t want to leave in the first place. As much as Suna seemed to enjoy conning, he never felt like leaving Japan or even places close to home anymore. Unfortunately, traveling was the only way to afford his new rent and being able to pay for food.
“Not if you’re here.” You gave a soft laugh and kissed the man gently.
“Like you said the other night, we’ll talk. It isn’t like this is goodbye or anything.” You promised, but then it hit you as Suna eyed your hand on top of his and fiddled with your other fingers hesitantly. “You… do know that this isn’t goodbye, right?” You asked, wondering if the man was worrying you might move on in the couple of weeks that he’ll be gone.
“Yeah. Of course.” He said in an unconvincing way.
“You know, Rin, you’re irreplaceable.” You promised, pressing another kiss to his face. “When you come back, everything will be the same. I won’t be leaving you.” You worried about aggravating the man with these promises, not wanting him to feel trapped after thinking that he was worrying about you leaving and getting it all wrong, though the way that he looked at you a moment after you stopped speaking diminished your worries.
“You promise?” He asked beneath his breath, as if he was afraid if he said it any louder somebody other than you in your empty apartment might hear him being vulnerable in this intimate moment.
“I promise.” You said back as softly as he had. Suna leaned in, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face against your neck. You smiled, hugging the man back and resting your head on top of his. It was silent for a moment, and you swore Suna had whispered something beneath his breath before there was a knock on the door that stole his attention away from the hug as you tried to process his words. With a soft sigh, Suna hesitantly pulled back from you and offered you a hand.
You let him help you off the counter and walked beside him towards the door. He opened it and there stood Matsukawa, looking around but quickly directing his attention to the boy and then to you. There was a small smile on his face quickly after the door opened.
“Hey, Suna, (y/n).” He greeted. “Are you ready to go?” Suna nodded as he slid his shoes on, moving to grab his bags that were right beside the front door. He turned his attention to you as he walked out of your apartment.
“Bye. I’ll see you soon.” He promised. You sent the man a smile and nodded.
“You guys have a good time on your business trip. Try not to kill each other and good luck selling.” You said, looking between Matsukawa and Suna before your gaze landed on your boyfriend. “Drive safe and let me know when you get there.” You said, something that was always said from you when he left, unknown to Matsukawa who raised a mere eyebrow at the situation before Suna nodded.
“I promise,” your boyfriend said, making a split-second decision and leaning in quickly to press a soft kiss to your lips that you were quick to return even if it had ended seemingly as soon as it began. Matsukawa’s eyes widened in shock as he looked at the two of you frantically, wondering if you two were only fucking with him or if he had hallucinated the situation. Suna turned away and started to head down the stairs without another word as Matsukawa looked at you with a slacked jaw. You sent the man a small smile before shutting and locking the door after you. Matsukawa quickly turned to follow after the man he’d known since right after high school quickly.
“Uh, Suna— mind explaining what the fuck just happened?”
“Remember when I said I’d admit I had a girlfriend when I did?” The man asked without so much as looking back or slowing down for the man who tried quickly to catch up to him.
“Uh, yeah?” Matsukawa said in a confused manner.
“Well, I have a girlfriend.”
You leaned against the front door with a soft sigh. You knew that you were going to miss Suna while he was gone, but you were hoping that he wasn’t kidding when he told you that he’d keep in touch often. You thought back to when Suna was hugging you and tried to think of what you might’ve heard, though a smile was quick to work it’s way onto your face as you grabbed your phone and opened up your messages with Suna.
“I love you, too.”

Stay With You ii
You get the call after Rook’s accident and go to the hospital to take care of him.
Requests: “ Could you maybe write another Rook story about where you get the call after his accident that he’s in the hospital and just always staying there with him and when his dad shows up he sees you leaning on the bed sleeping holding Rooks hand or something and he knows you’ll take care of him? I just really love Rook “ “ I was wondering if you know what happened to rook and if you could write something cute like taking care of him after being worried at first about him. I had a mental breakdown when we got the news I'm hoping he gets well soon “
JP “Rook” Cappelletty X Reader
Warnings: Cursing, mentions of the accident (violence, broken bones, etc.), angst
A/N: I needed something happy to come out of this situation so... I wrote it.
Word Count: 2372
part i
You woke up a few hours later to Rook moving under you, your eyes finding his instantly. “Hey baby, how are you feeling?” You asked as you sat up, a smile on your face as you saw that the bruising on his face was fading. He had clearly just woken up as well, sleep still in his eyes.
“Better, I think. Awake.” You nodded, moving the pillow from his lap.
“Your dad’s here.” You said softly, nodding your head towards the man who was sleeping in the chair against the wall. You giggled at the sight and Rook let out a chuckle.
“I’m hungry” He whined and you frowned, remembering what the anesthesiologist told you about no food 8 hours before surgery. He was scheduled to go in at 10 am, and it was currently 5 am.
“I’m sorry, babe. The doctor said no food until after the surgery. I can see if they’ll let you eat jello if you want.” He frowned and you reached up to rub his face. You could tell this was going to be a long 8 weeks.
Truth be told, Rook was a baby when he got sick. He would lay in bed and whine until you agreed to cuddle with him. And if he wanted something, he would pout until he got it. But you kind of loved it. “I’ll be right back.” You whispered, standing up to go find a nurse.
He smiled at you, “can you hand me my phone?” He asked. You moved to the other side of his bed where his phone lay on a table and handed it to him. “I’m gonna see if Colson’s still up.”
You nodded, happy that the two boys were so close. You put your mask on and left the room, flagging down one of the nurses working the night shift.
When you got back into the room with 2 cups of lemon-flavored jello, Johnny was up and the father and son were having a light conversation. You set the cups on the tray and moved it so it was in front of Rook. He tried to raise his hands but you could tell he was struggling. He let out a sigh and looked at you, embarrassment in his eyes.
You smiled lightly, trying not to giggle at his helplessness. “Do you want me to help you?” You asked and he gave a nod, pouting. You adjusted his bed so he was sitting up fully.
“Can you sit next to me?” Johnny let out a laugh as you rolled your eyes a little bit.
Rook tried to shift over in the bed, but you could tell it was hurting him. “Baby stop, you’re gonna hurt yourself.” You sighed.
“I want you to sit on the bed with me.”
You looked at his dad, an exasperated look in your eyes. He just chuckled and turned back to his phone. “I don’t want to hurt you.” You frowned, taking notice of the fact that there was very little room on the bed to begin with.
He squinted his eyes at you, still pouting. “You won’t hurt me.” You raised your eyebrow and moved to sit halfway on the bed, your right thigh resting on the mattress but the majority of your weight still on your left foot on the ground. “Not good enough.”
You rolled your eyes, scooting closer so that your back was against the back of the bed, turned on your side. He smiled, reaching his arm up slowly to try and wrap it around your shoulders. You glared at him, but he shot you a “My hand is broken, not my arm.”
You sighed, sitting up and leaning onto his chest, where you knew he wanted you. You pulled your other leg onto the bed, careful not to put any pressure against his. You leaned up slightly, putting weight on your right hand as your left grabbed the jello cup beside the bed. He opened his mouth and you rolled your eyes. “I don’t like how much you’re enjoying this.”
You placed a small spoonful of the yellow food into his mouth, making him smile. “In a few years, its gonna be you in this bed and I’ll be feeding you jello.” You tilted your head at his words, furrowing your eyebrows. “Y’know, when you’re giving birth to our kid.”
You blushed, a smile making its way to your face. You knew JP wanted kids at some point, and you did too. But you guys had never really talked about it. And now he was bringing it up so casually. Before you could respond, the door opened, and in walked Colson with a backpack full of what he called “everything Rook will ever need,” which you assumed to mean weed and tequila.
Rook smiled, “Yo, dude, what’s up?” Colson threw the bag onto the floor on the opposite side of the bed from you.
“How are you, man?” Colson asked, throwing himself onto the chair next to it.
Rook shrugged, “I’ve been better.” He chuckled and you rolled your eyes, a small giggle coming from you. “Y/N’s feeding me, so it’s not too bad.”
His dad spoke up, “You’re forcing Y/N to feed you jello, you mean?” You laughed at that as Rook’s shoulders fell. “Nice to see you, Kelly.”
“You too, Johnny. I like the new hair.” Colson smiled at the older man, who thanked him. “So, what did the doctors say?”
Rook gave him the rundown, one surgery today, Wednesday, and another on Friday. Casts on his hands for 6 weeks and on his legs for longer. The four of you spoke for a while afterwards and then Colson pulled out a game of connect four (which you raised your eyebrows at but Rook seemed excited about it).
Eventually the Anesthesiologist, Dr. Stenson, came in with a few nurses to take Rook to surgery. You had to climb off the bed, much to Rook’s dismay. “I can’t go into surgery with you, dummy.” But part of you wished you could stay with him because you did not like the way those nurses were looking at him. Colson noticed your distaste and chuckled, causing you to send him a glare.
“He’s going to be very drowsy when he comes back once the anesthesia wears off.” Dr. Stenson said, and you smiled at the thought of Rook on anesthesia, which he claimed would be “just like being high.” Dr. Stenson shook his head at that.
Before he was wheeled out of the room on his bed, he made grabby hands at you as best as he could. You leaned closer to him, pressing your lips against his quickly. “I love you, Y/N” He said, quietly. He didn’t mind anyone else hearing, but he wanted these words to be only for you.
“I love you too.” You said, just as quietly. He leaned back up to kiss you again, making you smile. You were starting to love helpless Rook; it was just endless attention and neediness.
The nurses took him off to surgery, leaving you, Johnny, and Colson alone in the room together. You collapsed onto the chair you had slept in, letting out a sigh as Colson chuckled at you. “Shut up.” You scrunched your nose at him, curling into the chair and bringing the pillow under your head.
“You guys are cute, what?” He asked, defensively, but the smile on his face was anything but.
You pouted, trying to push yourself further into the chair to find some comfort, but you knew your attempts to sleep were futile. You groaned, sitting up and throwing your head down towards your chest. “I’m so tired.” You mumbled, causing the two men to laugh.
“This is your life for the next 2 months.” Johnny chuckled. “If he doesn’t marry you after this then you need to leave his ass.”
You chuckled, the irony of his dad telling you that made it even funnier. “I can’t believe he still hasn’t proposed.” Colson shook his head in disappointment.
A laugh fell from your mouth. “It’s funny how everyone is more impatient than I am for my own proposal.”
“I don’t understand how you’re so patient! I’ve barely been with Megan a whole year and I already wanna marry her.” Colson threw his head back against the back of his chair.
“I mean it’s not like I’m worried it’s not gonna happen. We were just talking about kids. He just doesn’t feel the rush, I guess. I don’t either, what’s the big deal with getting married anyways?”
Colson tilted his head at you, “It’s like, this huge proclamation of your love. Like you’re telling the whole world that you’re gonna love each other for the rest of your lives.”
You shrugged, looking down at your nails. “I mean, we don’t really need big proclamations. It’s in the little things. I love him, he loves me.”
You could feel both men’s eyes on yours and heat ran to your cheeks as you thought about the idea of a white dress. “But you do wanna get married, right?” Johnny asked and you smiled.
“Of course, I just don’t want to push him into something like that. He’ll ask when he’s ready.”
Colson shook his head as you looked back up, “He is one lucky motherfucker. Literally every other person would’ve kicked his ass by now.” You chuckled, not saying anything. “Wait you guys were talking about kids?”
You nodded, “right before you got here, actually.”
Colson furrowed his eyebrows, “I never saw him as the type, honestly.”
You smiled widely, “He brought it up.” Colson shrugged, a hum coming from his mouth. “I think it’d be kinda nice. I don’t know how it would work with him being on tour all the time, but that’s a discussion for another day.”
“I seriously can’t imagine Rook being a dad.”
“Can you imagine Rook getting married?” You giggled as Colson shook his head.
“Well I, for one, am looking forward to being a grandad, so hop on that.” Johnny said and you laughed. You spent the rest of the time while Rook was in surgery playing connect four and eating shitty hospital food, trying to keep your mind off the fact that Rook was in fucking surgery.
When he did get back, it was a sight to behold. The nurses wheeled him back into the room, his eyes lighting up when he saw you. “Y/NNN!” He slurred, “Look at my beautiful girlfriend.” He said to the nurses and you and Colson busted out laughing. “She’s so cool. She comes on tour with me sometimes, and we partyyy.” He made a dancing motion with his arms even though they his right was in a very large cast.
“Okay Rookie, the nurses are gonna leave now, okay?” You said, trying to hide your laughter. The nurses gave you a look of thanks and left the room after leaving you with a list of what he could and couldn’t do. Colson took his phone out and started recording, knowing that whatever Rook was gonna say next would be funny.
The surgery went well according to them, but the doctors would be in later when the medicine wore off to tell you more. “How are you feeling?” You asked, knowing he wouldn’t give a real answer.
“I feel greeeat. I’d feel better if my fiancé were laying with me right now, but other than that I am just fine.”
You cocked an eyebrow, an amused look on your face. “Your fiancé?”
“Yeahhhh.”
“When did you propose?” You giggled, looking over to his dad and Colson who were both cracking up.
A look of realization crossed Rook’s face, “Oh shit, I forgot that step, didn’t I?” You nodded, “Do you wanna get married?” You bent over in laughter at his innocent expression. He pouted at you, whining. “Why are you laughing I’m asking you to marry me?”
You tried to speak through your laughs, “I’m sorry babe.” You took a deep breath in, “I’m not laughing at you.”
“So, you don’t wanna get married?” He asked, getting very upset.
“I do, baby. I do. But you gotta get a ring.”
“Oh yeaaaah.” He looked over at Colson. “Colson, where’s the ring?” Your head snapped to Colson, whose face went red.
“Dude you didn’t get a ring.” He tried to cover it up but you could tell he was lying.
Your eyes went wide and your mouth hung open. “Yes I did, I told you to bring the ring with you when you came.” He whined.
You giggled, hand going to your mouth. “Oh wait.” He said, turning back to you. “I can’t ask you to marry me right now. I gotta get down on one knee and my legs are broken.”
Johnny had an amused look on his face when you looked over to him for help. “Okay, Rookie. I’ll forget that you proposed and then when your legs get better you can do it again, okay?”
He nodded, “But you’ll still say yes, right?”
“I’ll still say yes.” You smiled, eyes closing as you continued to laugh. “You should get some sleep, hun.” You moved his braids out of his face.
“I wanna cuddle.” He pouted.
“You just had surgery; I can’t give you cuddles.” You frowned as he looked sad.
“Why don’t you love me?”
“I do love you, Rookie. I just can’t cuddle you with your arm broken.” You could hear Colson wheezing from the opposite side of the bed. “Get some sleep and we can cuddle when you wake up.”
He groaned but leaned back into the bed anyways, slowly drifting off to sleep. You turned to Colson, eyes wide and face red. “You had a whole conversation about marriage while you had his ring in your bag?” You whisper screamed.
He raised his hands up in surrender, “I was just doing what I was told. I didn’t think he’d propose to you while he was high off his ass on anesthesia.” He chuckled.
Johnny chuckled, “at least you got it on video.” You sighed and rolled your eyes, putting your face in your hands.
“Congratulations!” Colson said, eyes swinging up in the air.

Thoughts on Lies
Warning: Spoilers! And possibly having your heart torn into pieces. Other than that, have fun!
We open up with Marinette figuring out the recipes for the power ups as the new guardian.
I am disappointed that she still has not stopped oogooling over Adrien when he appeared on the news. Especially since she was allegedly with Luka by then. (I'll explain what I mean in just a minute)
Adrien was tired after the day he had as Adrien, which is a contrast of what Marinette believes his life is like. But being Chat Noir is the highlight of his day...
...only to not see Ladybug show up for patrols. And we see that it was all due to her figuring out the powerups.
Also, the patrols are a thing in cannon and I am still not over it after "Truth".
Chat Noir hoping for an akumatization so he can escape his civilian life radiated the same energy as Alya asking for akumatizations to interview the temporary heroes on her IG post. I get it, but still! We do not have people in danger for our needs.
Plagg being the one who announces any voice messages for Chat and asking for cheese through the feature on the Chat Phone brings me a whole other level of life.
Also, the whole milk thing at Le Grand Paris bar counter. It was hilarious, but also very sad. He really missed his m'lady
He ends the patrol after he saw Kagami training with her mom. And the smiles on his face! *Cries in Marichat and Ladynoir*
Plagg is the one that encourages Adrien to move on from Adrien, just like he applauded him from doing so in Loveater.
Kagami apparently said that fencing lessons are scheduled an hour in advance and Adrien (with that goofy grin on his face) knew what was up!
Both Ms. Tsurugi and Gabriel are very pissed at one another for the schedule change. That's hilarious, although everything comes at a price.
The parallels! Kagami is apparently learning Russian at her mother's request. Truly is a reflection of Adrien, civilian life wise.
Kagami? Lying???? The hell???? Who are you and what have you done to Kagami????? (Why am I surprised, y'all did this in Desperada)
She lies to their parents and the teacher to be in the art room with Adrien. I get it, teenage rebellion after being under an uninvolved parent, but still!
I like how the writers gave Kagami another dimension by saying she loves art, but her mom does not like her passion for drawing.
To Kagami's mom: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOUR DAUGHTER IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH???!!! HER DRAWINGS BELONG IN A MUSEUM!
Also, art reflecting the truth? Hmmm.....
Since people like mentioning that Marinette has a thing for people with absent parents after "Truth", I will now say that Adrien has a thing for people who are great at drawing. I do not take criticism.
Kagami is hinting that Adrien's civilian life is not his true self (thank you for understanding him!)...
...but also says that being a "clown" (it was the Chat pose) is also not who he really is. The fandom would disagree with you. Although that brings up the question of whether both personalities merge to form who he really is and cannot be seen completely by anyone in any part of his life. But he is more like Chat Noir regardless.
Also, I want to see Adrien and Kagami spend more time together prior to this episode to see why she was not pleased with him being a clown if that's who he truly is, because her repositioning him against the wall made me feel like she is trying to place Adrien into a mold that reflects the image she might have created in her mind. (I don't know, this was just the first thought that came in my mind.)
They almost kiss, with Adrien being taken into shock (not terrified as we thought) until the alarm saying they have fencing lessons starting interrupts them and Adrien runs out, not before BLUSHING LIKE HELLO?!?!?
This is what I referred to in my second point and confirms what everyone was saying about this episode: this is "Truth", but through Adrien's perspective. Finally, an Adrien-centered episode!!!
To continue, every time Adrien and Kagami are together or were about to kiss, a sentimonster appears, with Ladybug trying to do something about it. Just like Lukanette, just like Adrigami: being a superhero affects your love life as a civilian.
Chat being thrown off the roof by accident and being rescued will never get old or less funny lol.
Montages continues up until the boat scene, where Adrien missed the intro to the performance, but I will never get over the fact as to how Adrien made it there before Marinette. It is beyond me.
Kagami not letting Adrien stay for 5 more minutes. Hmm...
Their cute moment together was what will lead to the demise of Adrigami as Kagami noticed he dropped the infamous lucky charm bracelet. *le gasp!
Why *le gasp*? Because 1) I fear it symbolizes that something will happen to Adrienette or that Adrien has forgotten about her, and 2) Wait until later.
Kagami revealed she lied so she can spend more time with Adrien alone, lying about leaving rehearsal earlier, lying about the fencing lessons rescheduling, and who else knows what else so she can be with him.
She tells him she loves him. But Adrien notices Ladybug and an Akuma. Oh boy, he wasn't able to give her any attention.
Because he left towards the direction of the boat (and said he left something there), Kagami used that to conclude it had something to do with Marinette. Oh boy.
Either I missed an entire scene about Ladybug knowing ShadowMoth's name, or we were not supposed to know how they know until this episode. It feels out of place to me, but oh well.
"I..am...AN INCREDIBLE SWIMMER!" still cracks me up even when I know how important it was in protecting her secret identity.
Happy Birthday Prince Ali!
Apparently, Kagami lied that her mom was in charge of watching over Adrien (or maybe not? I can't tell at this point.)
Yep, Kagami believes that Adrien is going after Marinette and probably resents them both if her facial expression says anything
We get to see that Ladynoir moment from "Truth"!! I love these two and their banter.
Adrienette stans, not much has changed. Adrien was concerned that he lost the Lucky Charm bracelet, for real. But said again because he though he would be clear of the lie since he thought he had it on him.
Kagami confronts him with it. AND THIS IS HIS SHOCKED FACE SCENE FROM THE TRAILER!!!
Thinking that she lies to get out of being with her, she leaves. With the bracelet. The leaving part is understandable, especially because she does not know about him being Chat Noir or what entails him to do. But why take the bracelet???
Adrien is also saddened by what happened. He also liked her.
We've never seen that part of city hall. Well designed in my opinion.
She was the akuma in City Hall with the glowing sphere! We were right!!!
Adrien feels guilty, though it is not really his fault. He has a duty to Paris!
Why is the music sounding different in French.
Jagged Stone. How do I feel about you after learning you purposefully abandoned Luka and apparently Juleka? Also, what's with the song??? (Rhetorical question. Do not answer)
We were wrong about Kagami's power: it paralyzes people who lie, not kill everything in its path.
Jagged, you abandoned your children. And you apparently lied about your age?!?!?! Both episodes show something about Jagged Stone that make him seem like an awful person on the inside.
Ladybug, how do you know about Lies's powers?!?!? There is a hole in the plot here! Unless there were other paralyzed civilians that gave her power a dead giveaway.
Chat Noir, if you lie as a civilian for whatever reason, of course Ladybug will too, since as a civilian, you need to lie to keep your secret identity a secret. Same rules apply to Ladybug, especially as the guardian.
The Lucky Charm is a drone, not a camera like I thought. How the hell did I get into an ivy if I can't tell the difference?!?!
Chat Noir pretending to lie is funny. It might also be his peppy attitude to lying. Also, his funnier version of ShadowMoth's name.
Ladybug finds the akumatized object and gasps. I wonder if its only a eureka moment or also the fact that she recognizes the bracelet, especially if its custom made.
Brutally honest people does not exist (we have all lied at some point, even Kagami who is usually brutally honest with people), but animals can't lie.
Fang being involved in destroying the akuma is cool.
This is the moment that we dreaded so much, yet knew was coming: CHAT NOIR DIES!
JK! He actually is paralyzed by truth because he jumped into the glowing orb. We were right that this is an anguishing scene to watch, but we're wrong about the part that he's killed. Yet, he still unnecessarily sacrificed himself and caused Ladybug to be angst about it.
WHAT IS UP WITH CHAT NOIR BEING HAPPY ABOUT SACRIFICING HIMSELF?!?!? AND DO NOT SAY ITS BECAUSE HE TRUSTS LADYBUG!
Yes Ladybug. Chat is crazy. And also crazy for you. And you are right about the crazy unconscious part. My Ladynoir heart!
ShadowMoth almost won until Fang bit off the charm bracelet. Thanks Fang!
Chat backing away from Fang licking him is a mood.
My favorite Ladynoir moment of the evening: Ladybug telling Chat to stop sacrificing himself and Chat saying she likes her adorable angry face. Her smirk afterwards.. And then their pound it.
But no seriously Chat. You need to stop doing that to Ladybug. She cannot take it anymore
Plagg said that even if Adrien loves someone else, he is likely to go back to Ladybug. Just like he goes back to Camembert. Seriously, despite his cheese analogies, he gives great wisdom.
Not Kagami almost beating up Adrien during his fencing lessons. And Mr. D'Angercourt notices this too as he stopped Kagami's final blow.
Also, isn't it illegal in fencing to push people? Oh boy.
And there's the Adrigami breakup scene: Adrien telling Kagami that he enjoys their time together and Kagami knowing their is sincerity in him. It is sort of unclear who actually ended things when Adrien asks if they could still be friends, but Kagami ends it all by saying that she will let him know once she can face him again. Ouch.
Adrien is hurt and stares at the lucky charm bracelet with what looks like sadness. Once again ouch.
Like Lukanette, I want to see Adrien and Kagami be happy together at least until halfway through this season. The issue is that it will hurt them more in the end.
Also, I noticed the difference between Luka and Kagami when ending their respective relationships. It hurt them both, but Kagami was more forward about it and Luka was somewhat passive. It could be based on what they know about their now exes (Luka knew that Marinette had feelings for Adrien and was not secretive about it even when they were together if the truths her friends said and the opening scene to this episode reflect this, whereas Kagami only has a suspicion and Adrien does not say anything regarding to it.
Also, I really did not like how the breakup on this end resulted in. While more realistic for a lot of people, it did not help that it involved Kagami as there are people who will go after Kagami after watching this episode, and I believe that the writers know this. Kagami is a good person who has a different response to the trust issues and lack of communication, as well as lies in their relationship. Not saying its a perfect one, but an understandable one. In conclusion, don't trash Kagami, especially if you saw this coming.
I take back what I said before; this is my favorite Ladynoir scene. I want to hug them both because they have to lie and keep secrets from everyone, even have some secrets between themselves! But at least they can trust each other! Excuse me while I cry over how much we are being fed. Also, the fact that they broke up with their respective partners makes this both heartwarming and heart breaking.
Overall, this episode is just as good as Lies! It is the first fully Adrien-centered episode, which makes this a first and already exciting. While I did not like how their breakup was handled, it was realistic and showed that honesty and communication are important. Also, can my children be happy together for longer than an episode??? I swear, their pain hurts me.
But at least Ladybug and Chat Noir have each other's company to get them through. May us Ladynoir stans continue to be fed!

YOUR EYES TELL
In which you kiss Wonwoo twice at a party while getting over your ex and now you have a huge crush on him while you try to look for your soulmate. Or, your soulmate mark means how many times you’ve kissed them and now you have to ask your exes around while trying to accept there’s no way Wonwoo’s kisses have something to do with you.
Pairing: Wonwoo x gender neutral reader
Genre: angst + fluff
wc: 2.8k (I’m sorry I keep making them so long!!)
Warnings: mentions of alcohol and maybe a curse word around there + a very hateful ex that says mean things to y/n :(
notes: credits to tiktok for this type of soulmate!! I found it very interesting haha // mingyu’s minghao’s soulmate aus! I’ve been a little lost I’m sorry, I just need to find inspiration sometimes and I wasn’t feeling like writing:( also!! Shall I continue with soulmate aus or should I start thinking about the gossip girl series?
You still don't know what to do with the number two next to a pair of drawn lips that you can see on top of your head when you watch your reflection in the mirror. This can only mean one thing: you've kissed your soulmate two times. Your mother already warned you, this type of soulmate is almost exclusively from your family, and if your counter says 0 you're in a risky position because you don't feel like kissing random people in any place of their body until you find your other half. But when the day comes and your counter already has the number two in it, you feel nothing but relief. Initially, of course, because that could only meet one thing: you have already kissed that person, a low number of times.
You want to tear your hair apart before dialing Seungkwan. He would either make a big deal out of it or be completely chill and transparent. You don't know if you like what he could tell you, but you decide to take the risk.
"I've got some big news," you say right when he picks up.
"Oh really? Me too!" He seems happy today, that's good.
"On the count to three, we'll say what we have to say, okay?" Seungkwan hums in approval and you sigh.
"I got my soulmate mark today,"
"Vernon has finally asked someone out... WAIT, WHAT?"
"It's so good that Vernon has finally risked his life asking someone out! He still has all the parts of his body doesn't he?"
"Vernon's unlucky love life is not important now, tell me everything about your mark!"
So you tell him, knowing you can explain yourself to the fullest because Seungkwan is fond of details. You tell him how you almost fainted this morning, how glad you are for not having to kiss some stranger's ass, how unsure you are of your future right now and how you can't start the list of how many people you've kissed on your own.
"Let's make a list together, then!" Seungkwan's too giddy about this, he's teasing you, and you know it, "where should we start?"
"Jeon Jungkook."
"Wait, really?"
"Yep, the first year of high school was wild, not much kissing but it was there. Then there's Im Changkyun, but we were still too young so we didn't kiss much, we mainly held hands. And then there's..."
"Kyungho..." Seungkwan whispers his name as if it was forbidden, and you almost laugh at your friend's hatred towards your latest ex.
"Seungkwan, breaking up with someone because you are not compatible is not a bad thing."
"It's not. Doing it over a text message and two weeks after you started dating and then blocking you is."
"Yeah, right." Seungkwan's right, Kyungho was an asshole to you, he behaved like a kid when you were acquaintances and it didn't change when you began dating. Throughout your two weeks of relationship, you saw him like five times because he barely made time for you. You can't remember how many times you've kissed him, but you wouldn't be surprised if only two times happened.
"Aren't you forgetting someone?" You close your eyes. This is what you didn't want Seungkwan to remind you.
"Jeon Wonwoo," You say his name in a whisper and you're afraid Seungkwan hasn't even heard you, but he always does. "What happened doesn't count, he... is not available now."
"Y/n, the universe does not care if making out with Wonwoo one night counts or not, or if he's available or not. It happened, there's a possibility, it's there."
Seungkwan is, once again, right, but you don't want to be reminded of that night, or else your feeling for Wonwoo will hurt more than they do now.
It happened the night Kyungho broke up with you. Your feeling for Kyungho weren't the big thing, but you did spend your time and effort trying to make it work. You felt tired of giving and not receiving and ashamed of him being the one to break up with you and not the other way around. Seungkwan said Mingyu was going to a party with a few friends and he invited the golden trio (you, Vernon, Seungkwan) and he didn't let you complain.
You met Jeon Wonwoo at the party. You had seen him around campus a few times, in Mingyu's group of friends, he was incredibly eye-catching. That night, Mingyu introduced both of you properly and you don't know how you started talking. You don't remember much of that night in general, your brain preferred to forget all the traumatic experience of the breakup as the shots you took with Wonwoo kicked in (not many, but you were tired and they hit hard). What you do remember is pouring out your heart to a handsome stranger, him listening to you with beautiful eyes and speaking careful words. You remember kissing him first and Wonwoo following your lead. You remember him stopping you and you almost wanting to cry as you felt his touch all over your face.
"You just want revenge, Y/n. I can't give you that," you closed your eyes, you just wanted to sleep for a while. "Come to me when your head and your heart are completely sobered. Meanwhile, we can be friends." You nodded, a little ashamed. He gave you a sweet peck on the lips and a tight hug. When you got home and thought of what had happened that night, you knew your heart didn't need Kyungho anymore, your heart needed Jeon Wonwoo.
A few daws later, Wonwoo was seen around the halls with a beautiful girl by his side, too close to him, wishing for the same lips to kiss her as you had been kissed. You know from Mingyu that they lasted for two weeks, Wonwoo broke up with the girl, but Wonwoo told you he never liked break-ups. He must be feeling sad.
It's been two weeks ever since, and you are just like you were the first day.
"So your plan is talking to each boy, one by one?" Seungkwan raises his eyebrow. He's judging you.
"Yep, do you have anything better?"
"Are you asking if I have a plan that might not damage your integrity? I'm afraid I don't."
"Then shut up, when the time to find your soulmate gets to you I might not help you." He rolls his eyes and looks at the list you've made with the four names."
"And how are you going to approach them? Do you even know where they are?"
"Jungkook is friends with Mingyu, I'll try to talk to him without Mingyu knowing... Somehow. I still follow Changkyun on Instagram, that won't be hard. The only hard one is Kyungho, I don't know anything about him, thank God"
"And Wonwoo is the most approachable one, isn't he? Why don't you talk to him first?"
"No damaging my integrity is what we are looking for, remember?"
"I still don't understand why you don't want to talk to him. He is a nice guy, he'll be very chill about anything."
You almost tell Seungkwan that that's the problem. That night shouldn't have happened, not when you were heartbroken and Wonwoo was into someone else. Maybe that's the thing that hurt you, Wonwoo liking someone else and being heartbroken because of the break-up.
"I'd better talk to Changkyun now, the sooner the better, right?"
Talking to Changkyun was both a victory and a loss. He was a good friend of yours when you were younger and it's been a lot since you last talked to him. He wasn't weirded out by the sudden soulmate topic and instead he spoke freely about it, you suddenly remember how he had always been an open-minded guy. However, he had already found his soulmate.
You move on to the next person on your list almost immediately. Talking to Jeon Jungkook without Mingyu knowing was harder than you thought it would, mainly because you know nothing about him ever since he moved a few years ago, and you can't find him on Instagram or twitter. You know the only thing you can do is ask Mingyu directly, so you get Seungkwan to do it for you.
"Why do you want Jungkook's number?" Seungkwan looks at you after Mingyu pops out the question, you expected him to just give it to you, he is not the type to get into someone's business. He must be really curious.
"Just... Woozi told me... he's looking for a singer for his new song... Yeah... that,"
"Aren't you and Dokyeom his singers?"
Seungkwan looks uneasy. He is too honest, he doesn't like lying. He keeps on looking and you and you decide to help him help you because this is not looking good.
"You know how stressed he's being lately, Mingyu," You feel Mingyu's, Seungkwan's, and Wonwoo's eyes on you, "He thinks that trying a new voice will help him,"
"Then why isn't he asking me himself?"
"Mingyu, just give them Jungkook's number, it's not that deep," Wonwoo steps in "Excuse him, ever since he found his soulmate he is not as nice as he was."
Mingyu complies as his hyung tells him and you feel your heartbeat rising. You don't talk to Wonwoo a lot after that night so listening to his voice feels like reliving the events. Especially when his eyes don't leave yours, almost as if saying 'I know you're lying'. That night, he sends you a text
Wonwoo: Have fun with Jeon Wonwoo is typing... Wonwoo is on line
Whatever he was writing, you'll never know. You couldn't answer the text either
You don't know what's funnier, Kyungho trying to delete himself from your life or you trying to locate him back. Jungkook was not your soulmate. He actually gave up his soulmate life after a very tragic story with his supposed-to-be soulmate and now he dedicates his life to art, in any of the ways. It was a sad story, you cried like a baby at your situation and then at his while he laughed softly and told you soft thing like he always did. It was gratificating.
But now, your list only points towards one direction, and that is Kyungho's old working place, a café near some beautiful parks, and an outdoor basketball court Kyungho himself used to play in. He did a lot of things but being a good boyfriend or friend, actually.
You feel scared for a second 'will he be there?', 'How will he react?' 'What if he's my soulmate?' You stopped in your tracks. You didn't want to have such an awful person as a boyfriend. Great, another fear added to your list! But when you find the guts to come inside the café and he is right there, wearing the same clothes and same hairstyle he always had, you feel like ending all this as soon as possible.
His gaze changes when he recognizes you, surprised.
"Hi, Kyungho. I know you don't want to see me, but can we talk?"
"My shift ends in ten," he speaks after a few seconds "wait for me outside"
You do as he asks. For a second, you think he might run away through the back door or something, but he complies and meets you outside the café.
"What are you doing here?" Straight to the point, as he's always done.
You roll your eyes and he keeps a straight face.
"Have you found your soulmate?"
He laughs as if you had told the funniest joke.
"What now, baby? You want me as your soulmate so bad?" You want to slap him in the face.
"Just answer my damn question."
"Why do you think I left?" Your eyes go wide. Does this mean that he... You almost feel like crying, why does your soulmate have to be him and not Wonwoo? You shouldn't have, but you must admit you had gotten your hopes up for a second. "I'm joking! You should have seen your face!"
"So... No soulmate then?" You ask, pretending to find his joke boring when you're just furious.
"No, no soulmate Y/n. I feel nothing when it comes to you." Your hand moves faster than you think, and you surprise yourself when he grabs your wrist before your hand can reach his face.
"Nice try, Y/n. Maybe try again?"
"What if I do it for them?" You could recognize that voice everywhere. Kyungho turns around and there he is, Jeon Wonwoo. He is so close to Kyungho it's almost comical: Wonwoo is a bit taller, so Kyungho looks like a defenseless animal. "I play basketball nearby, you know? I wouldn't mind using you like a ball."
Kyungho is going to make another comment, you know that, but Wonwoo doesn't let him.
"Let's go, Y/n. We have better things to do." Wonwoo puts his hands in his pockets and begins to walk and you follow him, without looking back at a very scared Kyungho.
"Do you always go around asking exes if they've found their soulmates?" He asks and you blush.
"Not really"
"I'm guessing it was not just some random thought?"
You sigh, you didn't want to have this conversation.
"No. My soulmate mark has appeared and I had to do something about it."
"Oh, how random, mine has appeared too." You want to ask him directly about it, but you can't find your voice. "It's a number, what about yours?"
"A number too"
"That's nice!" He smiles sweetly, your heart is about to burst "Which number?"
"Two"
"Oh." He looks lost in thought for a second "Well, at least it's not Kyungho"
"Yeah, I don't even know why I dated him"
"I'm wondering the same thing. You deserve so much better," how can he be so chill about all this? All you can think is how he is the last person on your list.
"Jeon isn't your soulmate either." It wasn't a question, he was just confirming it.
"How do you know... about that?"
"I told you, Mingyu is not as nice as he was. He likes to gossip now, with his soulmate. Jungkook told him how he wished you found a soulmate who treated you nicely and how comforting he found your chic-chat"
That guy...
"I guess the universe thought I deserve something else, but what could be better than Jungkook?" You joke.
"Maybe try with another Jeon?" He chuckles when you don't answer him.
Does he know...?
"Aren't you going to ask me what my number is?" He knows.
"What is your number, Wonwoo?"
"Ten." What? If Wonwoo isn't your soulmate then... You will never recover from this low blow. "You seem surprised."
"I just- I thought that maybe... You know since that night... And I might be wrong but I'm sure I've never kissed anyone else apart from my exes and you... I'm sorry, I must have made this uncomfortable."
"Oh no, absolutely not" He is trying his best to stay calm, but you can tell he's a little nervous "so your soulmate mark is how many times you've kissed them?"
"Yeah"
"Mine too" Could this be possible? That much of a coincidence?
"That's... Curious, I think"
"It is." He is looking at you again with that look, the one that says 'I know everything about you even before you do' but this time you catch up.
"You think that we..."
"There's only one way to try."
When his lips meet yours just like they did that night, you find the same comforting feeling. It's like being pulled, like magnets. You feel safe.
And then you remember something you had forgotten about that night. You were feeling sad and tired, but Wonwoo's presence made everything better, your eyes were closed. You had kissed Wonwoo for the first time but then he cut you off and told you to come back when you were sober (but you were sober!). You thought he was caressing your face slowly with his fingers, trying to comfort you, but he actually gave you a kiss.
One on your right cheek, then another one on your left, then another one at the tip of your nose. His lips moved your jaw and placed a small kiss there, then on your chin and another one very close to your mouth and finally he planted a kiss on your forehead and you opened your eyes. He then kissed the back of your hand which made both of you laugh.
It is true that you kissed him two times, and it is true that he kissed you ten.
When you parted, a small eleven was placed on top of his head with a pair of drawn lips just like yours.
"I see a three there, soulmate." He pointed to the top of your head.
"And I see an eleven there, soulmate." You do the same thing he did. He hugs you "I'm so glad it's you, Wonwoo. You don't know how confused I was, I thought you were broken-hearted because of a break-up!"
"You just made that up by yourself! You should have asked me first instead of Jungkook or Kyungho."
"I know. I was scared you would end up being my soulmate but you wouldn't like me back"
"Y/n, I'm head over heels for you." You smile and he leans closer "You know what? I hate odd numbers."
"Me too."
He kisses you one more time.

Chapter 13: The Day That Was
Allison placed a hand on her sister’s shoulder as she stared down at the paper. “Harold Jenkins?”
“Who the hell is Harold Jenkins?” Diego asked as Five took one last gulp of the coffee, throwing the cup to the side afterwards.
“I don’t know… yet. But I do know that he’s responsible for the apocalypse. So we have to find him. And we have to do it now.”
“But how is he connected to what’s gonna happen?” Luther asked.
“I don’t know.”
“Wait, so you just know his name? That’s it?” Diego walked past his siblings to get closer to Five.
“That’s enough.”
“There’s probably dozens of Harold Jenkinses in the city.”
“We have no other choice than to start looking, then.” (Y/N) sighed. Both Diego and Five turned to her, the former annoyed and the latter grateful. Allison sighed.
“I’m sorry, am I the only one that’s… skeptical here?” As she spoke, (Y/N) heard Five grunt. Bringing her attention back to him, she saw him checking his right side. “I mean, how exactly do you know all of this about what’s-his-name?”
Five looked up at her, ticked that she’d already forgotten the name. “Harold Jenkins. You know those lunatics in the masks who attacked the house?”
“Oh, yeah, I think I remember those guys.” Klaus’s sarcastic remark made (Y/N) mentally wince. Diego turned to him, also sarcastic.
“Yeah, the ones that attacked us,” He turned back to Five. “While you were getting drunk.”
“Well, he actually got drunk after-”
“(Y/N).”
“Right. Sorry…” She looked down as Five rolled his eyes at his brothers.
“Yeah. Them. They were sent by the Temps Commission to stop me from coming back and preventing the end of all life on earth.”
“The Temps what?” Allison crossed her arms.
“My former employer. They monitor all of time and space to make sure that whatever is supposed to happen… happens. They believe the apocalypse is coming in three days. So I went to Commission headquarters and intercepted a message that was meant for said lunatics. “Protect Harold Jenkins”. So he must be responsible for the apocalypse…”
Five let the information sink in for his siblings, which lasted for a few seconds, before they all erupted into overlapping exclamations, voicing their confusion and such. (Y/N) really couldn’t be bothered to listen to them as she focused on Five, the boy checking his side yet again. She slowly approached him as Allison spoke, “And do you have any idea how insane this sounds?”
“You know what else is insane?!” His head shot up to her, the corner of his lip twitching. (Y/N) halted her tracks beside him. “I look like a thirteen-year-old boy! Klaus talks to the dead, (Y/N) also looks like a kid with several versions of herself walking around, and Luther thinks he’s fooling everybody with that overcoat! Everything about us is insane. It always has been.”
“He’s got a point.” Klaus spoke up.
“We didn’t choose this life, we’re just living it. For the next three days, anyway.”
“But the last time we tried to stop it, we all died,” Allison raised her brows. “Why is this time any different? Why shouldn’t (Y/N) and I go home to our kids?” Her last question made the girl flinch. Five’s eyes were set on the two mothers.
“Because this time, I’m here. We have the name of the man responsible. Guys, we actually have the chance of saving the lives of billions of people,” His gaze and voice softened. “Including Claire.”
Allison hesitated. “You know her name?”
“I do. And I’d like to live long enough to meet her. Michael and Jada, too.” At this, (Y/N)’s heart bursted and she was sure she would’ve cried right then, had they been in different circumstances. Allison nodded and moved forward.
“Alright. Let’s get this bastard.”
“You had me at Gerald Jenkins.” Diego spoke.
“Harold Jenkins.” Five narrowed his eyes.
“Whatever. I’ve already lost two people this week, I’m not losing anyone else.” His words made (Y/N) smile, proud of her siblings for actually committing to this. She followed her brother as he began out of the room.
“And Luther?”
“Yeah, you guys go,” Luther’s words made everyone stop and stare at him. “I’m gonna stay and go through Dad’s files. I still think this has something to do with why he sent me to the moon.”
“Seriously?” Diego deadpanned. “Now you wanna make the end of the world about you and Dad?”
“No. ‘Watch for threats’. That’s what he told me. You think that’s a coincidence? This all has to be connected somehow.”
“Luther, we can’t really do this if we don’t have everyone. And we don’t really have the time to talk about it, either. We need to go now.” (Y/N) sighed.
“Exactly, let’s roll,” Diego nodded. “I know where we can find this asshole. Klaus, you’re with me.”
Klaus raised his head from where he was laying down. “Yeah. I-I’m good. I think I’ll, uh,” He stood up and began to leave. “I think I’ll pass, I’m… feeling a little under the weather, so, uh…” He was stopped momentarily when (Y/N) gently grabbed his arm, her eyes asking him what was wrong. He used his other arm to pat her head as he freed himself from her grasp, continuing out. She sighed in defeat as she followed Diego and Five out of the parlor. At the entrance, she stopped and turned to her sister.
“Ally, you coming?”
“Yeah… Yeah, I’m coming.” Her eyes slowly left Luther before she walked beside (Y/N) out of the house. After climbing into the backseats of the car, the two got comfortable right beside each other. As Diego drove off, the sisters leaned against each other’s bodies. (Y/N)’s head was tucked between Allison’s shoulder and neck, the woman’s head resting atop her sisters. It had been such a long time in which they comforted each other for something that didn’t involve losing someone they loved, one way or another. (Y/N) felt a sense of normalcy for simply cuddling with her sister in peace. Well, as much peace as they’ll get for a while.
The two removed themselves from each other once Diego pulled up to the police department and turned off the car. “I know this Jenkins dude has to have a record. We just gotta get our hands on the file.”
“So, what’s the plan? Bat your eyelashes and say please?” (Y/N) raised a brow, leaning forward. Diego looked at her through the rearview mirror with a sarcastic smile.
“You know you get funnier everyday? No, I know the station like the back of my hand, little sis,” His snarky comment earned him a light slap to the arm. “I’ve spent a lot of time inside.”
“Arrested…”
“Whatever. Here’s the plan.”
“Plan?” Five furrowed his brows at his brother. “I’m just gonna blink in and get the file.”
“No, that’s not… You don’t know the ins and outs of this place, okay-”
“I literally just did this yesterday.”
“What?”
“Well… My yesterday, not your yesterday… It’ll take me two seconds. Why don’t I just go?”
As the boys continued to decide who did what, (Y/N) leaned back and let Allison wrap an arm around her. “Boys…” They both shook their heads, slightly smiling at each other. After the decision was made to let Diego be a hero or leader or whatever he was this time, the four got out of the car. Allison had mentioned that she needed to make a call, so she, Five and (Y/N) headed to the nearest payphone. As she spoke on the phone, Five leaned with his back against the building behind them. (Y/N) was attached to his side, her arms looped with one of his and resting her head on his shoulder. He hadn’t minded the contact, but he did notice how clingy she had gotten since he returned. She constantly watched him with careful eyes, asked him multiple times if he was okay, and always wanted to assist him.
His head turned to her before he whispered close to her ear. “Are you okay?”
“I’m okay. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, you just… you seem different.”
“How?” She looked up with her brows knit together. Five wiggled the arm a bit that she held onto. “Oh… Yeah. I just missed you.”
He tilted his head at her. “I missed you, too…” And he meant it. These past couple of days have been filled with thoughts of (Y/N) for the boy. In the middle of dodging bullets shot by The Handler, going through multiple plans during his very small stay at the Commission, and playing the part of the obedient worker, his mind raced with thoughts of her. He never stopped wondering how she was doing, what she was doing, if she was thinking of him as well. It often distracted him and he’d get frustrated at himself. He’s already come to terms with the fact that he’s in love with her years ago. Why is this time any different? Maybe it was the way her thumbs gently rubbed the bicep of his sleeve or the way everything she did was so much more gentle. He wanted to think it was simply because she really did miss him, but he knew there was something more going on in that pretty head of hers.
As Allison hung up the phone, Diego rounded the corner to them. The teens lifted their heads and straightened their posture. “So?” Five watched as Diego raised a file in the air.
“You’re welcome.” He smugly smiled at (Y/N), who flipped him off as Allison snatched the file from him. They watched as she opened it and scanned the information inside, her eyes widening.
“Holy shit!”
“What?” Diego frowned. Allison held the information to them, a mugshot of the brunet Vanya had shown up with paperclipped to the file.
“Harold Jenkins is Leonard Peabody.” And with that revelation, only one thought crossed (Y/N)’s mind.
Ew.
-------------------------------------------------
Pulling up to Leonard Peabody’s house, the four got out of the car, walking through his lawn to get to the front door. Allison used her hand to block the sun from her eyes. “Be careful, okay? We don’t know what Peabody’s capable of.”
“Yeah, he didn’t seem dangerous when I first met him,” Diego replied. “Looked kinda scrawny.”
“Yeah, well, so are most serial killers and mass murderers. I mean, look at him.” She gestured to Five, who simply gave her a ‘thanks’.
“Good point. So what’s this guy want with Vanya?” He asked.
“I don’t know, why don’t we ask him after we kill him?” Five answered as (Y/N)’s eyes followed Allison, who ran to the back of the house. She looked between the boys and the direction her sister went before following the latter. Seeing her getting in through the backdoor, she smirked and cleared her throat. Allison quickly turned to her with wide eyes.
“You been here before, Ally?”
“Maybe once.” She cheekily smiled and opened the door. Stepping inside, they jumped a bit upon seeing Five already inside. He looked over when he heard the door open and close.
“Ah. So, we’re just waiting on our leader.” He gave a tight, close-lipped smile. Not too long after, the sound of glass shattering and someone groaning in pain could be heard. With a collective sigh, the three made their way to the front of the house, where Diego lay in shards of glass that were once a part of the door.
“Subtle.” Allison quipped as (Y/N) easily twisted the unlocked knob and opened the door.
“You know, the door was unlocked.” Five added as Diego painfully got up from the floor.
“Yeah, well, my way works just fine,” He strained through gritted teeth. “Spread out. Yell if you, uh… you know, you’re in trouble.” When he was out of the room, Five scoffed.
“Aspiring leadership.”
“One of the greats.”
“Love his work.” (Y/N) finished as she walked into the living room, Five right behind her. The boy glanced over his shoulder to see Diego was now in the kitchen. Figuring they were as alone as they could be, he joined (Y/N) at the coffee table, the girl looking through the papers stacked on top.
“Hey… You sure you’re okay?” He whispered, the girl not answering for a few beats.
“I’m fine, Five. Just trying to prevent an apocalypse like anyone else around here.” She joked. His concerned orbs didn’t leave her until Allison called for them to come upstairs. Quickly, the three bounded up the stairs and then the ladder that lead to the attic. The sight before her caused (Y/N) to fall dead silent. It was like an Umbrella Academy shrine. Old merchandise, posters, and figurines littered the room, only that wasn’t the unsettling part. All of their faces, even Reginald’s, were crossed out from the posters and burnt off from the figurines.
“This guy’s got some serious issues…” Diego quietly muttered. He and Five both muttered a ‘shit’, but the boy’s sounded more wavering. (Y/N) turned to see him breathing heavily and checking his side yet again.
“Five?” She whispered, gently holding his shoulder. His eyes were half lidded when they met hers and she began to panic. Just as Allison came to the conclusion that Vanya’s boyfriend was out for their family, Five fainted. (Y/N) yelped and caught him before he could hit the ground. Allison and Diego turned to them as the girl sat on her knees, letting the back of Five’s head rest on her thighs. Allison lifted his shirt to reveal the bullet wound in his side, blood seeping from it.
“Jesus, Five, why didn’t you say anything?” Diego widened his eyes. Five groaned as (Y/N) gripped one of his hands in hers.
“You have to keep going…,” He faintly whispered. “So… close…” His words trailed off when he fell unconscious. (Y/N) shakily inhaled as she gently patted his cheek with her free hand.
“Five? Five?! Five!” She screamed, tears filling her (e/c) eyes. “No, come on, Five! Stay awake!” She hit his cheek a bit harder, the boy’s eyes cracking open the slightest bit right before Diego and Allison both picked him up. She was close behind them and assisted in opening and closing doors. Once they were all piled into the car, with her and Five in the back, they began to drive off.
“The Academy…” Five muttered in his haze.
“W-What?” (Y/N) sniffled.
“We need to go to the house…”
“Five, we need to get you to a hospital! We don’t have Grace anymore.”
“The house, Diego…” Five demanded despite himself. Diego shook his head, but listened to his brother and changed the route to their house. (Y/N) sighed in frustration and glanced down at Five. He was drifting in and out of consciousness and she was right there to wake him up if he fell asleep. Her other hand gently ran through his dark strands as she tried to hold in her sobs.
Not this again.

You stand in front of your apartment, sighing as you close your eyes, making your way inside your bedroom and begin to pick up the cardboard boxes with the help of your wand, moving them outside into the living room for someone(who is quite late, yet again) to take to your new home.
You tie your hair up, fixing your overcoat a little as you sigh, making your way to the smallest box, placed in the corner of the room. Just by looking at the stamp on top of it, you smile.
The memories of your time at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
You carefully sit on your knees, your plaid skirt riding up just a smidge, as you open the carton in front of you.
To say that it was filled up completely was an understatement because right now, a few books and photographs fell out onto your lap, making you chuckle. You picked up the photographs, settling with your back against the wall and your legs stretching out, as you looked through them one by one.
The first one—one of your graduation ceremony, standing next to Shimizu Kiyoko(the current owner of the most popular Quidditch shop in London) who was beaming vividly at the camera with you, holding up your wands as a gesture that you had finally done it. Something that seemed almost insurmountable when you first started school, and now? You all were content, happy with your lives.
The second photograph was one from the third year, your first time in Hogsmeade. You were in The Three Broomsticks, and a mustache of the froth from the butterbeer had formed atop your lips. Behind you, a certain fox pointed and laughed his guts out.
The next picture was from the Shrieking Shack—where all of your friends had ditched the second last day of school and spent the whole day drinking and reminiscing the past seven years of nostalgic happiness. A boy held your hand with the fondest look in his carob orbs, and you returned it.
You gingerly took the three photos, storing them in the photo album that had also fallen out of the box in the process of you opening it. Smiling, you took out some more mementos.
Your broomstick, the Nimbus 2001, sat at the bottom, but you excitedly removed it and placed it on the ground, saying, "Up!"
It almost made it to your hand but fell down upon grazing your fingertips. You pouted, blaming the number of years it had passed since you had played Quidditch. Peering into the box as you placed the broomstick aside, you found something even funnier.
Cheap, piss colored hair-dye that was almost ten-years-old.
You chuckled, looking at it playfully as you opened the top of the bottle. The disgusting odor that came from it made you grunt as you immediately placed the cap back on top, never desiring to touch that thing ever again. And once more, you placed the item in your hand to the side, looking into the box to find more things that reminded you of your happiest years.
You couldn't believe your eyes at what sat at the bottom of the carton.
An empty notebook with a soft leather cover, with a grey quill by its side, sitting there and ridiculing you.
You blinked twice, making sure what you were seeing was real. Hell, you even rubbed your eyes until you could see mindless patterns in the dark. You opened your eyes, the patterns making themselves sort of visible in plain sight, disappearing after a few milliseconds when you grabbed the brown book in front of you and whispered with your wand in hand, "Aparecium."
September 2, 20**.
I don’t know what I’m doing at this point. It’s been 3 years since I started loving her. When I saw her walk into the train today, umm, yesterday cause it’s past 2 AM now… I felt so happy?? I mean, I know I tease her and all, she’s quite amazing. She’s got the brains for it all and insults me back even when I say something stupid. I really dunno. 3 years and I’ve made 0 progress. I seriously need to re-think my decision about my love for this girl 'cause 'Samu says there’s no chance she loves me back. Dunno if I’ll be able to stop my feelings, though. I’ve liked her since my second year. Damn me, for being such a lovesick puppy. And to think I colored my hair for her too. [Y/N] called it piss-colored. Out of all things, why the fuck would ya compare somebody’s hair to piss? That’s utterly disgusting. I wonder where [L/N] gets these dumb ideas. Damn her, that slug. Anyways, I have class in a couple hours. G'night.
'Tsumu.
You immediately let out a hearty laugh, flipping to the next page when you remembered a certain encounter with the boy who wrote the diary. The day he told you he loved you, by the infamous Black Lake, he spoke of this particular page. He said that he addressed the nightly trips around Hogwarts, about how much he longs to be yours, about his happiness when he sees you, and your snarky comments that are just as, if not more, witty than his.
September 4, 20**
Today was the third day of school. Also my first trip around Hogwarts with [Y/N] under my invisibility cloak. We snuck into the kitchens and got ourselves steak pies and treacle tarts, and then went to the Astronomy Tower where we ate them while laughing about nothing in particular. I love these little trips. They make me all warm and fuzzy inside. Dunno how to put it into words, but I really like spending time with her alone. It makes me really really really happy. I wish that someday, maybe when I'm all grown up and play for a known Quidditch Team and she's a DADA professor, we are still like this. Going around to aimless places, eating food, and laughing about the old times(or anything really, I just want to be with her even when I'm older). And just like always, she doesn't fail to throw dumb comebacks at me. I can't help but chuckle at them, because sometimes they really are offensive. Well, looks like it's time to hit the hay now, so g'night.
'Tsumu.
You gasp as the page comes to an end, a hand on your mouth. He wasn't wrong when he said he wrote about you. You smile as a tear runs down your cheek as you flip to a random page this time, and you realize that it's written in his sixth year of Hogwarts.
December 23, 20**
I stayed back for Christmas break this year and my dorm is all empty. So is hers, because she says she didn't want to go back home at all until the summer. I feel bad for her gran, that woman must feel lonely.
You giggled at the line, grinning because you remember your grandma sending you a Howler, which yelled at you in the empty dorm-room for not coming home for the holidays. She said she missed you, and that your grandfather's health was deteriorating. She had also said that she knew why you didn't come back, and that it was okay, because she understood that you couldn't see another loved one go. The Howler ended on a sorrowful note, but everything eased back into its place because you remember the writer of the diary in your hands being there to comfort you when a dreaded letter came in after the holidays. You continued reading where you left off, wiping away the new wave of tears that had emerged from the memories.
Yesterday, me and [Y/N] went around the castle under the invisibility cloak I gave her. It was fun because I always get to see this little smile on her face that only shows up during these trips. We also went to the forbidden section of the library just because we wanted to look at a few spells that are probably illegal. I did accidentally kill a rat practicing the second unforgivable curse, and [Y/N] helped me hide all the evidence by feeding the dead rat to the Hippogriff she had found in the Forbidden Forest. I swear, if someone saw the way I did the spell and couldn't stop until [Y/N] threw Expelliarmus at me, they would throw me in the deepest pin in Azkaban and I'd probably never be able to see [Y/N] again. Anyway, I have to go back out for dinner now. G'night.
'Tsumu.
You, again, laughed at the man's childishness. You recollect distinctly how scared he was, that he had almost pissed his pants in the Courtyard that night. You had assured him that nothing would go wrong and that your lips were completely sealed, because he was your friend of course, so you had quickly formulated a plan to help him. And yet again, you flip to a new page, one from the fifth year this time.
July 15, 20**
I hate this part every year. Ever since my third year, it sickens me to come back home for summer. I can't see her because she lives in Lambeth while I'm in Westminster with my posh family. It makes me a little angry sometimes that my family is well-known in the wizarding world because this means my summers are filled with whatever my parents want me to do. The train ride back home was definitely not quiet. It was so chaotic(mostly because of the constant bickering between me and [Y/N]) and Kita-san yelled at us at the end. That was the first time I've ever seen him get angry, so he was either really fed up or we were being too dumb. Anyway, I'm gonna miss Hogwarts a lot for the next month or so, because after that I get to see her again. Honestly? Can't wait for the sixth year. I hope she grows taller, because right now, she's quite the midget. I'll write her a letter or two, but I probably won't send all of them. G'night for now.
'Tsumu.
You continue reading it all. Page by page, parchment by parchment, word by word, letter by letter until you finally get to the last page. The one he wrote on the graduation day, where he says that he wants to marry you someday. But you don't get to read it just yet, because he walks into the room with his booming voice and boyish grin.
"[Y/N]! Sorry I'm late, sweetheart! I apparated back home as fast as I could 'cause Coach saw me slack off a lil-"
"So ya actually read it all, huh?" he smirks, walking up to you and crouching down next to you, "Ah, the last page, have ya read it yet?"
"Not the last one," you smile, "—if only I'd read these sooner, we wouldn't have gone through all that mindless drama in seventh year, right?"
"Eh, 'twas kinda worth it in the end," he shrugs, sitting down next to you and placing his thumb on your chin, "Love, you've been crying?"
You shook your head lightly, letting out a small chuckle which to him sounded like the sweetest melody on the face on the planet, "Tears of joy, 'Tsumu. You were a cute teenager in love."
He smiles with his teeth on display, his fading blonde hair falling on his face with perfection as he whispers, "Only for you, darling."
"I'm glad," you mutter, closing in and placing a ghost of a kiss on his lips when you realize, "Wait, shit! We have to take all of this to the House! I'm supposed to leave for Hogwarts tonight!"
"Kiss me first, then we'll talk."
"'Tsumu, you really didn't have to come all the way to Hogwarts to drop me off," you giggle, as the yellow-haired man intertwines his fingers with yours quietly, giggling along with you as he says, "Hey, now yer students get to see yer hot boyfriend that you've been with for the past eight years."
"My stupid boyfriend that did a lot of illegal things in school. You're not exactly a good influence, you know," you mumble, earning a little offended open-mouth Atsumu walking alongside you to your quarters. He continues faking the vexed expression, a hand on his heart as he says, "How could ya wound me like this, baby?"
"I love you though, so it's justified," you say, opening the door and placing your trunk by the bed. He closes the door, leaning on it with his arms crossed over his chest as you set up your things in the room. When you turned around, you saw Atsumu looking at you with the most enamored look in his clove-infused eyes. You sighed, your shoulders immediately relaxing when your orbs land on him by the door. You step towards him, your beige trench coat trailing behind as you wrap your arms around his very muscular figure(now that he's a part of Nottingham Jackals as a Beater).
"You're going to leave, aren't you?" you mumble against his chest softly, as he chuckles out, "Yer lucky ya get to stay in Hogwarts when I'm gone. Everything's gonna remind ya of me."
Before you open your mouth to retort, your boyfriend says, "Don't worry, slug. I'll send ya letters everyday. And I'll come to meet ya twice a month. Maybe you can even let me meet yer students."
"'Tsumu, no-"
"Imagine! Children and teenagers, all of 'em love me to death. They'll love yer class, even more, when you make me meet 'em!" he exclaims, his eyes filled with curiosity, "Also, also! What about the third years? I wanna be there when the boggart lesson goes on-"
"'Tsumu, no. The school won't allow it. Although, my students do come and ask about you a lot because they like your Quidditch playing skills. They're not idiots like me, they won't fall in love with your stupid personality," you chuckle, pulling away from the hug, but still holding his arms with yours. He pouts, pulling you into a soft kiss, but immediately pulling away and winking at you, "I'm gonna see ya in a few weeks. Maybe I'll take ya on a date to Hogsmeade again, we can sneak into the Shrieking Shack again under that invisibility cloak."
"'Tsumu, I'm a teacher, not a student!" you laugh, but he simply says, "If anything, that gives us an excuse!"
Miya Atsumu never expected you to be agitatedly running around in your green-room, trying to find things for your hair and make-up. He chuckles lightly because all the other people in the room can do is shake their heads and sigh at your frantic state. Your maid-of-honor, Kiyoko, tried to calm you down about half an hour ago, but it was to no avail.
Atsumu sent Kiyoko a knowing glance, to which she and all the other bridesmaids stepped outside for just a minute.
"[Y/N]," he says, his voice low but still soothing. You stop in your tracks, turning around and gasping as you looked at him—clad in sweatpants and a white shirt—and widened your eyes.
"Dummy, you aren't supposed to see me just yet! Go away and wait at the altar!" you yell, walking over to him and attempting to shove him outside the room.
Emphasis on the word, 'attempting'.
"You look exactly like what you are right now, a slug. So listen to me, love. I need to give ya something before you start stressin' out all over again," Atsumu murmurs, placing his hands on your shoulders tenderly as he pulls out a book with a leather cover and hands it to you.
You sigh, picking it up as you sit down by the vanity. Atsumu looms behind you, crouching down to whisper next to your ears, "Love, open the last page, will ya?"
You furrow your eyebrows in confusion, turning your head to look at him with exasperation. He places a peck to your cheek, humming indulgently as an indicator for you to continue as he instructed. You sigh again, shoulders drooping low as you turn over the book and open it, and muttering, "Aparecium."
July 2, 20**.
I want to marry [L/N] [Y/N] someday.
Miya Atsumu.
From the last day of the seventh year, and Atsumu continues to explain to you that during the train ride back home when all of you were sleeping, was when he wrote the last entry of his diary, and never opened it again. Because he knew, that he meant every word scribbled on every page.
You sat there, listening to the man with the messy faded blonde hair, losing yourself in his perfect brown eyes all over again. You felt as if you were diving deep into an ocean of pure chocolate, the sweetness and the slight bitterness getting the best of you as you drown—but voluntarily, because drowning was your intention.
"I love you, Atsumu," you say out of nowhere, cutting him off. He stops abruptly, his eyes growing wide and his mouth forming into a pout. His lips form into the brightest smile ever, as if the rays of a thousand suns meeting at one point. His boyish grin melts your heart, as he presses his lips to your forehead and says, "I love you more, darling. Now, take a breather, will ya?"
"Oh, and before I go. Don't disappoint me today, slug. I've been waiting to do this for the past eleven years."

Eda becomes some kind of flying taxi service
Amity: So I told Malphas he needed to have a talk with Gary about our coffee break space.
Emira: Mhmm.
Amity: I mean, for one, Gary never cleans after himself. Like, I once saw him leaving his mug dirty for over a week. A WEEK. It was disgusting. It was just sitting dare on the table for days. I didn’t want to clean it, I’m not a doormate. But it was dire and I had no choice. And don’t get me started on the fridge situation. My lunch has been getting smaller by the day and I can’t seem to figure out the culprit.
Emira: That’s nice, Mittens. Isn’t it nice, Edric?
Edric: What?
Amity: Will you guys pay attention? I need some advice on...
*Windows cracking”
Edric: What the...
Hooty: AMITY FELICITY BLIGHT! IT IS I, HOOTCIFER, HARBINGER OF THY DESTINY. COME WITH ME AND I SHALL REVEAL WHAT JOYS THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR THEE.
Amity: I... What?
Hooty: DOTH THOU DARE DEFY FATE? *Swallows Amity*
Emira: ... What just happened? Wasn’t that Eda’s house demon? You know, the one we met before Grom?
Edric: I think it was. I’m not sure though, he sounded more... ominous...
SEVERAL EMOTIONAL MOMENTS LATER
Luz: It’s early... Do you really have to go already?
Amity: Yeah... I still have to finish homework, and I have work tomorrow. But I’ll come back here tomorrow... If you’re okay with it, that is...
Luz: YES! I mean... yeah, I’d love that...
Amity: Anyway... I guess I should get going, we’re not exactly neighbors after all. See you tomorrow then.
Luz: Wait, I have an idea. *Turns around* EDA!
Eda: *Not stopping her flight practice* What?
Luz: Do you think you could give Amity a lift back to her place?
Eda: Oh? Not walking your girlfriend home? Thought you’d be more chivalrous.
Luz: *Showing that Amity’s tomato like properties are infectious* EDAAA!
Eda: Sorry, sorry. But yeah, sure. *Picks up Amity and flies away at neckbreaking speeds. She soon slows down to a more reasonable pace* So... Amity, before I give you that whole “What are your intentions?” scare there’s something I’ve been itching to ask you. What made you chose to dye your hair of all colors, and how did Odd-alia react?
Amity: Luz... Me... Girlfriend...
Eda: Ugh... Don’t make me regret making harmless fun of young love, kiddo.
ONE AWKWARD TAXI EDA FLYING SESSION LATER.
Eda: *Placing Amity on the Blight Manor’s front porch and looking at the two bewildered faces watching her* Sup. *Turns to fly away* Oh right, I guess purple here is in not in the mental state to give any explanations.
Amity: Small ceremony... Human realm... Only friends and family... Boscha is not invited...
Emira: Are you... Edalyn Clawthorne?
Eda: Last I checked I was.
Emira: You look different.
Eda: Oh right... Look, it was a very eventful night so let me start with the simpler one. King, you remember him, right? Tiny, angry, looks like a cat, was the MC at the last Grom along with Goops.
Emira and Edirc: Yeah...?
Eda: He’s harnessing all the powers of yelling. I guess all children his age kinda do that but he went above and beyond and actually learned how to make things go boom with his voice alone, and that’s why both Luz and your sister are still alive. And now I’m realizing I should probably go hide all those Death Metal records I got in human realm. Can’t risk turning my son into a weapon of mass destruction. Not yet.
Edric: That’s... nice... I guess?
Emira: How about Mittens?
Eda: Right. She and Luz are an item now. It was adorable, I called her Luz’s girlfriend then I think it finally really hit her and that made her go all catatonic on me. Sorry about that.
Edric: WHAT?
Emira: Okay, okay... So came out with it? Ed and I have some scores to settle.
Eda: I... Both, I guess? I don’t know, it was sort of at the same time. But I don’t want to spoil it for when she recovers. So I guess us three are kinda family now, huh? Tangentially at least, like you’re my nephew and niece-in-law or something like that, I don’t know.
Eda: The important thing is: there’s a huge waterway under my house and I think it is actually part of my property. Now I need to figure out a way to find out how big that place actually is without letting town hall know so my taxes won’t go up. Can’t push my tax evasion skills. I mean, can you imagine it? The Owl Lady, the most successful outlaw in Boiling Isles history: arrested for fiscal crimes.
Emira: Okay... That’s... cool.
Edric: Yeah... Not to pry though, but what happened to you?
Eda: Oh... Me? I got very high. Not on purpose. Then I became a Harpy. Also not on purpose.
Emira: ... I’m sorry but I’m not following the cause and effect relation between those thing.
Eda: Neither am I. All I remember is: Hooty spiked some cookies; I revisited that time I gauged out my dad’s eye, also not on purpose; then when I push my ex away (You know, Raine Whispers, current head of the Bard Coven, lead a small revolutionary guerrilla, now under mind control. Oh, yeah, guess they’d make to sure to keep it under wraps, anyway...)
Eda: Then it got pretty weird. I got trapped by this tall hooded sun and moon figure and I’m not sure whether that was an actual memory (I did get arrested a few time after all) or if it was just a hallucinogenics induced manifestation of the subconscious trauma of being persecuted for years by the state. Anyone’s guess to which was it.
Eda: And then I became Icarus, fell into the sea, and became a piece of paper. Then I was at the beach, the piece of paper was also there, but that’s not important... I hope... Anyway, so, my curse was there too an for a moment there I thought we were gonna play some chess, but nah.
Eda: I did have an epiphany though. The sky changed colors and now I’m a Harpy. Gotta a lot of stuff to process right.
Edric: *Wide eyed and mouth agape* Mother of Titan...
Emira: *Same as her brother* Do you... need a hug or something?
Eda: Ehh... Don’t worry, I’ll get through. I mean, I’m a badass Harpy woman now, what else could I want? I appreciate the thought though. Anyway, I’ll get going, Luz has probably been stuck in the same place ever since I left. Was nice seeing you guys. *Turns around*
Edric: WAIT, EDA.
Eda: Yeah? What is it?
Edric: Can you take me flying a little bit like you did Mittens? Pretty please?
Emira: *Elbowing her brother* EDRIC!
Edric: What? There’s a tall and friendly winged lady standing in our front porch and calling us family...
Eda: Kinda family.
Edric: Kinda family. And we only went flying, on dad’s staff mind you, like twice. And I mean, look at her. That’s clearly a person with next to no regard for speed limits or any form of flying safety. *Turns to Eda* I mean that as the highest of compliments, by the way.
Eda: *Nodding and smiling* Well, I’m not one to brag... But you’re on point there.
Edric: *Turning back to Emira* See? It will be fun. *Turns back to Eda while making puppy eyes* So, pretty pretty please?
Eda: Eh... What the heck, why not? I do need to get a better hold of this flying thing after all. Fair warning though, I only had these for about an hour, I’m not taking responsibility for any loss of limb or life. *Picks Edric up and place him on one of her shoulders and turns to Emira.* You sure you don’t wanna come with? There’s plenty of room.
Emira: ... I never said I didn’t want to...
Eda: *Placing Emira on her other shoulder* Alritty then, make sure to hold on tight to my hair, just don’t fall into it. Can’t promise I’ll find you if you do. And up we go. *Takes off at neckbreaking speed*
Eda: So... I tried that to Mittens herself, but she was too lost in elation to form coherent sentences. What’s the deal with her hair color change? Why did she pick that specific shade of... pink? Lavender? Purple? Whatever, I was a tad curious about that choice coming from one of Odd-alia’s offspring. So either of you can shed some light on it for me?
Emira: Eh, what can I say? Our little Mittens is growing up, coming out of her shell. I mean, if you told me a month that she’d have a girlfriend by now I’d call it bullshit. Though I would have guessed Luz as being the most likely candidate. In any case, I’m pretty proud of the steps our baby sister is taking, not gonna lie.
Edric: Yeah... Same. But I can’t shake the feeling that it is at least in part an act of rebellion against mom. She did always have that weird fixation with Amity’s hair after all...
Eda: Hum, I see. This actually takes me to my follow up question. How did your mom react when she saw it?
Edric: *chuckling* Oh, I thought she’d have a stroke right then and there.
Emira: Yup. Never saw mom that mad. You’d think the two of us would be the ones to cause it but nope, Mittens beat us to it. Again, I’m a proud big sister.
Eda: Hehehe Sounds about right. You two are the troublemaking type then huh?
Edric: That’s a way of putting.
Emira: We like thinking of ourselves as practical entertainers however. We are in the Illusions track so it comes with the territory. Buuut...
Edric: We indulge in some prankery every now and then, and there’s no one better at it than us.
Eda: Is that so? Ever get in trouble for it?
Edric: Sometimes... When we (kind of accidentally) cause more property damage than intended because SOMEONE botched their end of the spell and caused Bump’s office to almost go up in flames.
Emira: Awww. Ed, I told you already. Don’t beat yourself over it. Accidents happen. You’ll do better next time.
Edric: HEY!
Emira: Anyway, Eda. Why were you asking about Mittens’ hair?
Eda: Oh... You guys are going to love this. I think. Anyway, did you know that me and your parents attended Hexside at the same time?
Edric: Yeah, I remember mom seeing one of your wanted posters a while back and calling you “Ewdalyn Clownthorne” or something like that.
Eda: Ah, haven’t heard that in a minute, Titan those were the day. Anyway, as you might have guessed by now me and your mother we... had a bit of a rivalry. Unfortunately, I couldn’t top the nickname she gave me, best I could do was Odd-alia. No offense, but Blight doesn’t give much to work with in terms of puns, can’t get funnier than that. Especially when thrown at her.
Emira: None taken. And yeah. I mean, it is fun when people call us stuff like “The Blights of Hexside”. But it is kinda sad to know we’ll never get a nickname as cool as Owl Lady or Lord Calamity.
Eda: Oh, my fame still precedes me huh? You know, I think the three of us will get along just fine.
Edric and Emira: Yup, we sure will.
Eda: Anyway, flattery aside... Part of the reason why I love poking your mom with a short stick was, other than how aggravated she’d get and how surprisingly good at paying in kind she was, the fact that she was in the Oracle track. You see, that made her a challenge. And given how she would actually prank me back (successfully, mind you, I have no shame in admitting that) I feel like like we actually a weird sort of friends, or at least we reached some kind of agreement that we were fair game for each other. And trust me, she was ruthless, and very good at escalating things.
Emira: Wow...
Edric: That sounds nothing like the mom we know. Other than the ruthless or the escalation part, that is still true.
Eda: Yeah, anyway. Part of our little game was keeping it hidden. Neither your dad or my sister actually ever realized what was going on until... well, I’ll get to that.
Eda: Anyway, so some lovely day I notice how weirdly obsessed with her hair Odd-alia was. This gives me some ideas, but I know I have make this the mother of pranks, so I decided to just keep a watch, to figure out what the best way to go about it would be. And I was also making those smaller pranks, something to throw her Oracle powers off-balance, you know?
Eda: Well... Back in the day your mother wasn’t monochromatic as she is nowadays. She’d circle through all colors you can think off on her accessories (which she used an ungodly amount, and no judgement it just never seems physically possible). But I noticed that there was one very specific color that she never got anywhere near her.
Edric and Emira: No way...
Eda: And as I said, she was weirdly obsessed with her hair... And as top student of the Potions track making hair dye was child’s play for me... So... do the math... And guess what very specific color was? I may be bad at color names, but I won’t ever, EVER, forget that particular shade.
Edric and Emira: No... freaking... way...
Eda: Yes... freaking... way... I mean, seriously, the first time I saw Amity’s new hair I had to do a double take. The resemblance was just too uncanny.
Emira: And what did she do?
Eda: Well... For a couple weeks there I thought I’d have to place a restriction order on her or something like that. Ultimately the two of us, along with Lilith and Alador (they were our attorneys, no they were not qualified for the role.) sitting across from each other in a very formal looking table, signing a contract. An actual freaking contract setting clear limits to our mutual pranks, like what was off limits like her hair or my then partner, how long was the maximum period a prank could last, so on. Surprisingly enough that was Al’s idea.
Eda: And let me tell you, that was probably the toughest negotiation I ever been a part of. Shame it was not long before I dropped out so never could really put it to use. You know, sometime I think this actually made Odd-alia realize she wanted to be a business woman. I mean, before that she’d go off about how she’d join the Emperor’s Coven all the damn time.
Edric: Wow...
Emira: I second that. Really, wish I had brought something I could take notes on. You completely blown anything we ever did out of the water.
Edric: No wonder she never told us that. You know what? I think I’m dying my hair that color first thing tomorrow.
Emira: Can we tell Amity this story?
Eda: Are you two actually thinking of antagonizing her? Are you crazy? First off, she’s your mother, she holds power over you. All you’d accomplish is getting grounded. Not to mention that she has decades of experience on you, even if she wasn’t your mom, she’d demolish the two of you. No offense, you’re still young, naive, you lack guidance in the ways of the pranksters.
Edric and Emira: *Dejectedly* Ohh... You’re right...
Eda: Hey... Don’t look so gloomy. I see a lot of potential in you, in both of you. *Sighs* I can’t believe I’m gonna take more kids under my wing... But.... Have you guys ever heard of the Bad Girl Coven Initiative? We annoy our foes into submission.
Edric and Emira: WE’RE LISTENING.
Eda: Heh... We’ll get along just fine indeed.

Body |Peter's Turn
Part 2 of 2 (Part 1 -> here)
Masterlist
Gender: Female
Pairing: Peter Parker x reader
Warning: none (suspicions of cheating but no actual cheating lol just a lotta funny miscommunication)
Anon requested- can I get a one shot where the reader does the body positivity trend with the new megan thee stallion song and the reader is insecure about how ppl will react to it?? Most importantly how peter will react to it?? K thanks
A/N- Part 2 cuz I immediately knew what I wanted to do with this the second I got the ask. (Peter's turn)
---------------------------------------
When Peter heard that you'd been nervous about showing him your video, he freaked.
He thought he'd done something wrong. That maybe he gave off weird vibes or that he'd said something before that made you think he wouldn't have liked it. Which definitely wasn't true. He liked everything you did.
Well, except that one time you got bangs. He didn't really like the bangs.
Anyway, Peter felt like he needed to show you that he was okay with it all. That he was down with anything you wanted to do or show him.
He looked in the mirror early that morning and decided.
Peter wanted to show what he had to offer.
He looked down at your TikTok "body" video on his phone. He could do something like that, right? He was completely clueless, but he could at least try his best.
He pulled out his phone and texted the one guy he knew could help him out.

~~
Now, on your end, school was kicking your ass.
You weren't failing, but the amount of make-up work you had was so far through the roof that you might as well be. And the teachers were hellbent on making it the hardest they could.
To put it short, you needed a break.
And the second MJ heard your tired, irritated voice over the phone, she was on her way over with chips, dip, popcorn, and movies. If there was anything to calm you down, it'd be a nice movie.
MJ had gone to your kitchen to make the popcorn and you were laying on your bed finishing up some homework, when you got a phone call from Harry. "Hello?"
"I didn't know you and Pete were sending nudes."
You paused. "What?"
He carried on in a nonchalant tone. "I mean, I never took you guys as the types to do that, but damn, you two really surprised me. Dude's really over here asking for tips and everything-"
You sat up in your bed, alert and highly confused. "Okay," you said, taking a deep breath" ....what, again, the fuck?" Harry continued to ramble but one sharp scolding tone stopped him. "Harry, shut up."
He paused on the other side of the phone and then suddenly his voice came back, extremely hesitant. "...wait, was I not supposed to say anything? Did I just fuck up?" He sighed. "Oops.."
"No, Harry tell me what the hell you're-" BEEP. You looked down and saw that he hung up.
Just then, MJ opened the door, hands full with freshly popped popcorn. "Okay, ready to get the movie started?" She walked to the bed when she noticed that you were practically frozen in your spot. "Um, [Y/N]?"
You looked up with glossy eyes and she immediately knew that something was wrong. "Dude, what happened?"
You frantically shrugged a bit, and then let out a shrill laugh, half confused and half preparing for the worst. "Peter's- um... apparently... sending nudes to...me....Harry... someone?"
"What?"
-
Peter had finally made it to Harry's penthouse.
"So, nudes?," Harry chirped, very amused as he opened his door.
"What nudes?," Peter asked as he stepped into the living room. "What are you talking about?"
Harry paused. "Wait, what were you talking about?"
Peter only stared back in confusion, leaving Harry to pick through his own confusion fragments of information. He quizzically looked at him. "But-..the texts?"
"Oh!," Peter laughed, moving to sit on the couch. "No, I wanna make one of those thirst trap TikToks for [Y/N], that's all," he explained with a shrug and a bashful smile. "She made one for me, now I wanna repay the favor."
"Dude!," Harry hissed out. "You should've just said that!"
"Well, how about you just need to stop making assumptions," Peter said with a slight frown, not understanding why his friend was so wound up.
"Well, I had to since you kept being so vague!"
Peter rolled his eyes and started towards the refrigerator, if not to actually get something to drink, getting away from a crazed Harry for two seconds would be enough.
When he sat back down, Harry started to speak again. "So, what did you need me for?"
"Oh," Peter mumbled, shifting in his seat. "Well, you know how to do that sort of... stuff, right?"
"You mean looking like a fuckboy?," Harry snickered. "Yeah I'd say that's well within my reservoir."
Peter gave his typical bashful look. "So... teach me your fuckboy ways?"
Harry grinned. "Peter. You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear you say that."
-
You held your phone in your handle, looking at Peter's contact number hesitantly.
"Just text him," MJ said with an eyeroll.
"But what if it's nothing?! I don't wanna be the crazy girlfriend!"
"But what if it's something?," MJ added. "Cuz if you put it off now, and it actually ends up being something, you'll be even more miserable than you would be if you just found out now."
You took a long breath and nodded. "Okay then I'll text him."
"But if it is nothing, you'll look pretty stupid jumping to conclusions like that."
You sighed. "So, no?"
"But then if it's something-" she continued, getting deeper underneath your skin with each word. "-you'll look even more stupid because you could've found out sooner and you didn't."
Finally quieting down from her rambling, MJ noticed you glaring at her. You sighed.
"So...do I or do I not text him?"
"Oh nah, dude. I mean, I wouldn't. After all, I'm not saying that I think it's something," she said with a shrug. "I'm just saying on the off-chance that it is, you'd be in bad shape."
"Okay can we please stop playing devil's advocate with my life?!"
"You know I love watching you squirm [Y/N]." "Anyway, I'm sure Peter's not cheating. The boys were probably just doing something dumb and Harry just explained horribly."
You bit your lip. "You sure?"
She shrugged. "Pretty sure."
-
"Okay, now lower the camera just a little," Harry instructed. "You gotta show the v-line, but still leave enough for imagination."
Peter dropped his arm and his posture and shot Harry an incredulous glare. "Harry, if you focused this much in school I wouldn't have to tutor you."
Harry rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Just keep going."
This was the third picture taken and though it was out of his element, Peter strangely felt very confident with what he was doing. He never saw himself as ugly, but he certainly never saw himself as hot either. Not like Harry. But looking at himself now, with Harry's corny chain necklaces on and his hair scruffed up in a way he's not used to, he knew one thing for certain.
He looked good.
"Okay," Harry said. "Now the last one, actually needs to be some dumb picture someone took of you in your gallery."
Peter frowned. "Huh? But I'm on a roll here."
"Yeah but the whole point is that all of these pictures weren't supposed to be taken directly beforehand," he pointed out. "Since you're breaking that rule, you gotta throw in a cute dumb one to throw off your scent." He smirked. "Also, you gotta show the ladies and gents that you have a softer, funnier side."
Peter stared for a moment. "..why do you have this down to a science?"
"Says the science geek?," Harry retorted.
-
Peter spent the night at Harry's and they drove to school early in the morning. He was glad that it was Tuesday because your schedules made it so that you'd both have lunch together every other day.
"You sure she'll like it?," he asked Harry as they walked down the halls before lunch.
Harry rolled his eyes with a laugh. "You know, she asked me the exact same thing for you when she made her video?"
Peter nodded quietly, still feeling a bit down about you feeling bad about showing him that video. "Yeah, I know."
"Jesus," Harry laughed. "You insecure little dweebs are made for each other!"
"I'm gonna take that as a compliment..."
"As you should," Harry said with a shrug, as nonchalant as ever.
The two boys walked into the lunchroom and to the table they knew best. You and MJ were already there.
Peter could tell just by the look on your face that something was wrong. "Hey," he greeted cautiously. "Is everything okay?"
MJ glared at him and he looked to Harry, whose clueless face was not helping.
Finally, you looked up and sighed. "Pete, be honest. Are you cheating on me?"
What.
"What?!"
You examined the utter shock and terror in his face. It didn't look fake. He looked saddened and scared as he began to ramble. "No no! I would never! What even made you think-!"
His eyes caught yours as you looked over towards Harry sittting next to him. Peter turned toward Harry and then looked back to you in confusion. "Wait, you think I cheated on you with HARRY?"
MJ bursts out laughing next you. "Jesus..."
Harry scoffed. "Well don't sound so excited Peter, jeez."
You let out a small chuckle but kept your eyes on Peter. "It's just... Harry called me and...said something about nudes and-"
Peter's face grew even more contorted with bafflement. "Nudes?!"
Harry hit his forehead, finally understanding what was happening. "Ooooooooh, me and my big mouth..."
All eyes turned towards him. "What, Harry?"
He sighed. "This is all just a big mix-up." Harry nudged Peter. "Just show her the thing dude."
"What thing?," MJ asked.
Peter fished through his pockets. "Okay," he mumbled, a bit shaken up by what happened. He took his phone out and handed it to you. "Here."
You looked up and saw Peter looking down at you, waiting for your reaction.
"So, this is what you were doing yesterday?"
He nodded.
You blew out a long breath of relief. "You're not cheating."
"God no, babe, I'd never cheat on you," he cooed, stepping over towards your seat. "I know you were really nervous when you showed me yours, and so... I thought I should repay the favor."
He didn't even have time to breathe before you were on him, wasting no time in bringing your lips to his. He kissed you back, mildly aware of the people in the lunchroom around the two of you, but he still didn't care.
Peter pulled away with a smitten smile until he noticed blood on his lip. He wiped it away with his hand and frowned when he realized it was not his own.
You almost asked what was wrong when you noticed him looking at you strangely, but MJ beat you to the punch.
"Dude, you have a bloody nose!"
You gasped, picking up a napkin from the table.
Harry laughed. "Did you really just get a horny nosebleed?"
"Horny nosebleed?," MJ snickered.
"That's not a thing," you scoffed. "...is it?"
"It actually is," Peter corrected, blushing profusely and rubbing his neck. "Just glad to know you thought the video was hot."
"It was really hot," you gushed.
Peter grinned and pulled you close. "Aww babe."
MJ rolled her eyes. "Okay lovebirds, get a room."

THAT’S ROUGH, BUDDY.
(PLEASE DON’T REPOST/REBLOG)
Warnings: heartbreak, betrayal.
Pairing: Zuko x f!Reader
Characters: Zuko, Katara, Aang, Toph, Sokka, Uncle Iroh (mentioned).
Requested: I guess?
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters, nor the gif. Credit to the owners.
Summary: Part seven of “destiny is a funny thing”.
previous part
A/N: Hey guys! It’s part seven already! Let’s see how long i can keep this up lol. Have fun reading!
The steaming hot liquid in the pot reminded you of a long time ago. Of a small tea shop in the Earth Kingdom to be more specific. And so did the boy that poured it.
“No one can make tea like Uncle, but hopefully I learned a thing or two. Would you like to hear Uncle’s favorite tea joke?” He balanced a tray full of cups as well as a kettle. “Sure,” Katara said. “I like jokes,” Aang agreed and Toph didn’t seem unenthusiastic either. “Bring it!”
“Okay,” Zuko nodded, serving tea to the Duke and Haru before standing up, holding the tray. “Well, I can’t remember how it starts, but the punch line is “Leaf me alone, I’m bushed!”
The group stared at him. Silently.
“Well, it’s funnier when Uncle tells it,”
“Right ...” Katara dragged out the word. “Maybe that’s because he remembers the whole thing,” And as the rest of the group started laughing, Zuko gave a small smile. “It’s nice to get a chance to relax a little. It hardly ever happens,” Toph said, grabbing the cup Zuko handed her, before he approached Sokka. “Hey, can I talk to you for a second?" Your eyes followed the Water Tribe boy as he walked out, shortly followed by the prince. “What was that about?” You furrowed your brows, turning to Katara. “I don’t know,” She shrugged, sipping on her tea. “Hopefully my brother isn’t plotting anything stupid,”
The Team stayed gathered together around the fire until the sun left the sky and the night broke in.
Soon you were cuddled into your warm sleeping bag, the fire long since diminished. Your brows furrowed unconsciously upon a distant rustle, mind still foggy from your dreams. Drifting away once more, your features relaxed, only to be interrupted again seconds later. Sleepily you blinked your eyes open, trying to see through the dark with a cloudy vision.
It was probably nothing, you thought, turning around onto your other side, and the last thing you saw was the empty bedroll next to you...
Wait.
Empty?
You shot up, getting tangled in the sheets and tumbling over before you caught yourself. Careful not to wake the others, you stood up, looking around.
Where could he have gone? Had he left and betrayed you again? But how would he even get away?
You shook your head at the thought before it occurred to you. Appa! He wouldn’t, would he? You ran towards the bisons sleeping spot, heart beating rapidly, as if you didn’t know what to fear more: Finding Appa gone, or the prince.
Your lungs ached as you rounded the last corner, where you found the bison, fast asleep. A breath of relief passed your lips, walking up to him and crawling the soft furr next to his snout, to which he purred quietly. Suddenly a head appeared above the saddle, prompting a startled gasp from you. “(Y/N)?”
“Zuko!” You hissed, a hand over your chest. “What are you doing here?” The shadow questioned looming over you. “I’m the one that should be asking that question!” You pulled yourself up to the saddle, sick of him staring down at you. He grabbed your arm, pulling you up and finally explained when you landed next to him. “I have the feeling that Sokka might be up to something,” He drew his hood back and furrowed his brows. “Up to what exactly?” You searched his appearance for any indications, but he didn’t give anything away. “He asked me about the war-prisoners today. Where they would be put away,” Your eyes widened. “The Boiling Rock,” He nodded. “Exactly. I have the suspicion that he might try to-”
Your whispers where interrupted by silent steps in the distance and a quiet “Shhh,” from below. You and Zuko shared a look as someone climbed up, and eventually peaked over the rim of the saddle. “Not up to anything, huh?” The prince asked, arms crossed. Sokka fell, with a stiffled scream, his bags content spilling out on the floor. He gave you a resigned look. “Fine, you caught me. I’m gonna rescue my dad. You happy now?”
“No!” You exclaimed, while Zuko took an entirely different approach. “I’m never happy,”
"Look, I have to do this. The invasion plan was my idea, it was my decision to stay when things were going wrong,” The prince raised a brow at his words and jumped down from the saddle. “It’s my mistake, and it’s my job to fix it. I have to regain my honor. You can’t stop me, Zuko. And neither can you (Y/N),” He pushed Zuko aside, beginning to climb up to you. ”You need to regain your honor?” The prince questioned. “Believe me, I get it. I’m going with you,”
“No. I have to do this alone,”
You put a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it softly. “No, you don’t, Sokka. We’re all in this together. We’re here for you,” Zuko nodded, motioning to the bison. “And besides, how are you going to get there? On Appa? Last time I checked, prisons don’t have bison daycares,” The boy looked between the two of you, before he sighed, shoulders slumping. "We’ll take my war balloon,” Zuko gestured for you to follow him, before leading the way.
The travel to the Boiling Rock remained silent for the most part.
Sokka had sat down on stack of boxes, while you leaned against the railing. Zuko blasted fire into the tank from time to time, making sure it kept moving. But eventually even the silence got deafening. “Pretty clouds,” Sokka spoke up. “Yeah ... fluffy,” You resisted the urge to slap a hand against your forehead, while Sokka whistled. "What?” Zuko said, giving him a look. “What? Oh, I didn’t say anything. You know, a friend of mine actually designed these war balloons,”
“No kidding,” The prince raised his brows. “Yep, a balloon ... but for war,” Zuko blasted more fire into the tank. “If there’s one thing my dad’s good at, it’s war,”
“Yeah, it seems to run in the family,” The firebender gave him a defensive look. “Hey, hold on. Not everyone in my family is like that,” Sokka held his hands up. “I know, I know, you’ve changed,” The prince lowered his gaze, shacking his head slightly. “I meant my uncle. He was more of a father to me. And I really let him down,” He gave you an indefinable look, but he redirected his attention so quick that you wondered wheter you’d just imagined it.
“I think your uncle would be proud of you. Leaving your home to come help us? That’s hard,” The boy argued, fumbling with his boomerang. “It wasn’t that hard,” Sokka’s head shot up. “Really? You didn’t leave behind anyone you cared about?”
“Well, I did have a girlfriend. Mai,” You bit your lip to keep quiet, waiting for his next words. “We tried for some time but it didn’t work out. It wasn’t what I wanted,” He seemed to have more to say, but Sokka interrupted with a sly smile. “That gloomy girl who sighs a lot?”
"Yeah,” Zuko confirmed, giving you a quick glance that went unnoticed. “My first girlfriend turned into the moon,” Zuko’s brows shot up before he briefly looked into the sky. “That’s rough, buddy,” He said, eyes landing back on Sokka. “What about you, (Y/N)?” You grew stiff, staring at Sokka’s face. “Me?”
“Yes, what about you? Any lovers in sight?” You crossed your arms, taking a moment to think. Zuko’s burning eyes roamed over your silhouette, but you didn’t dare meet his eyes. “No,” You answered eventually, lowering your head. “No one,”
By nightfall Sokka had fallen asleep, preventing you to do so with his loud snores.
Zuko was busying himself with keeping the tank full, while you took a look out in the distance.
“There it is!” You alerted the others, pointing towards the large construction. The Water Tribe boy awakened from his slumber, staggering over to see it. ”There’s plenty of steam to keep us covered. As long as we’re quiet, we should be able to navigate through it without being caught,” Zuko plotted. But as you entered the volcano’s steam, the balloon began to lose altitude quickly. “We’re going down! The balloon’s not working anymore!” Zuko blasted fire up into the balloon, but with no avail. “The air outside is just as hot as the air inside so we can’t fly!” You said, grabbing his arm to stop him. “So what are we supposed to do?” His gaze flew from you to Sokka. “I don’t know!” He said. “Crash-landing?”
The balloon skidded along the boiling water, splashing Sokka’s hand, which he shook while you put a hand over his mouth to keep him from screaming. Your aircraft hit the base of the rock, throwing you out in the process. You moaned, getting up and rubbed your sore hip. “How are we gonna get off the island if the balloon won’t work?” Zuko groaned, looking at the destroyed object. Sokka seemed to be more optimistic. “We’ll figure something out! I suspected it might be a one-way ticket,” The fire bender furrowed his brows. “You knew this would happen and you wanted to come anyway?”
“My dad might be here! I had to come and see!” Sokka walked towards the destroyed remains of the balloon. “Uncle always said I never thought things through. But this ... this is just crazy!”
“Hey, I never wanted you to come along in the first place! And for the record, I always think things through! But my plans haven’t exactly worked, so this time, I’m playing it by ear. So there,” He said gathering the balloon and throwing it into the water. ”What are you doing?”
“It doesn’t work anyway,” He shrugged. “And we don’t want anyone to find it,” You sighed. “I hope you know what you’re doing,” You turned towards the prison. “There’s no turning back now,”
By the time the sun came up, the three of you had found a supply room, stacked with reserve guard uniforms.
“I hope these disguises work,” Zuko said, voice muffled by the mask. “We just need to lay low and find my dad as soon as possible,” Sokka said, blue orbs peaking out of the slit. They were just as beautiful as Katara’s. Your head whipped around whe a series of guards ran by, one coming back to look at your team. “Guards! There’s a scuffle in the yard. Come on,” He gestured wildly. Prisoners were gathered in the yard, forming a circle as the guards moved through to the inside.
“I didn’t do anything! I’m going back to my cell,” A tall man called, as a guard whipped fire in his direction. “Stop right there, Chit Sang,” Zuko tried to approach, but your hand shot forward to stop him. “We can’t blow our cover,” You whispered.
“I’ve had it with your unruly behavior!” The guard yelled, getting more riled up by the second. “What did I do?” Chit Sang asked. “He wants to know what he did,” The guard gloated, looking at you. ”Isn’t that cute?" His face grew sour when none of you answered and your tongue felt tied, prompting you to nudge Zuko in the side. “Uh, very cute, sir,”
“Super cute,” Sokka added. The guard walked up to Chit Sang, getting into his face. “You didn’t bow down when I walked by, Chit Sang!” The man looked confused. “What? That’s not a prison rule,”
“Do it!”
“Make me,” The guard growled walking away, but not without whipping fire at the male. Chit Sang blocked it, redirecting the flame to its owner, who broke it with a kick. “Tsk, tsk. Firebending is prohibited. You’re going in the cooler,” He ordered. “You! Help me take him in,”
“Meet back here in an hour,” Sokka whispered to you and Zuko before following the command.
But you didn’t meet in an hour.
In fact, not even you and Zuko managed to stay together, soon being pulled into two different directions due to commands. While you ended up in the weaponry, you had no idea were the others went. “Not your first time doing this, huh?” A guard leaned against the wall next to you, arms crossed. You gave him a brief look, before you resumed sharpening the swords and knifes. “Not really,” He took his helmet off, raising a brow. “How come?” You shrugged, not meeting his gaze. “I’m a non-bender. You need to know your weapons if you want to defend yourself,”
“True,” he inclined his head, taking a knife of his own and starting to prepare it. “I’m impressed. Not many non-benders manage to get employed at the Boiling Rock. Normally they prefer fire benders,” You hummed, grabbing fire the next weapon. “Guess I must be special then,” The guard gave you an amused grin. “You don’t have to wear the mask in here by the way. It’s more of a representative part,” You choose to ignore his comment, instead trying to redirect the conversation. “Hey, can I ask you something? It’s all pretty new to me and I didn’t get to explore everything yet,”
The thought didn’t seem to bother him, featured remaining relaxed. “Sure, rookie. Ask away,” You subtily cleared your throat, attempting not to sound suspicious. “I know the Boiling Rock holds the Fire Nations most dangerous criminals. But what about war prisoners? Do they end up here as well?”
The man shrugged. “If they make it this far... probably,”
“So...” You swallowed. “Any Water Tribe inmates here?” He huffed a short laugh. “You’re pretty interested in those prisoners for a guard,”
“Am I? Shouldn’t I know who I’m watching over?” He shrugged. “I guess so. You’re just very specific about it,” It was time to shut up, you concluded, grabbing a knife. “Well, anyways, thank you for the-” The words god stuck in your throat when you saw Zuko passing by through the window in the door. If you hadn’t been convinced by his amber eyes, then for sure by the time you saw his scar.
“I have to go.” You muttered, subtly slipping the weapon into your pocket. “Hey! Wait up!” The guard yelled rushing after you. You’d just managed to slip through the door, when he grabbed your upper arm. A few seconds later and you would’ve managed to blend in with the others in the lounge. “You can’t just leave. Your work isn’t done yet,”
“Sorry,” you retorted, desperate to reunite with your group. “but I can’t stay.” You rammed your elbow into his ribs, knocking the air out if his lungs. The halls were empty, thanks to the midday meal everyone joined. If you’d manage to lock him into the weaponry you could leave undetected.
You grabbed him, shoving him back into the room and slamming the door shut, before sticking the knife through the handle and using your fire to heat up the metal, sealing it shut. You breathed a relieved sigh as he banged his fists against the door and turned around, colliding with a large chest.
“What do we have here?” The man grinned, locking you in a tight grip that made you squeeze your eyes shut. "I arrive late to the break one time, and there's already trouble," He produced a flame, melting the blockade. The guard you’d locked in opened the door, his face distorted in anger. “She locked me into the weaponry, asked a lot of questions and lied about being a non bender,” He spat, glaring at you.
“Well,” the male behind you said. “What do you want do with this imposter?” The guard snarled.
“Throw her into the cooler!”

Shadow walked through the halls relatively unbothered. There was the occasional doctor that glanced twice at him, but they never questioned it. It wasn’t very long before he reached the vault. There was an ID scanner on the heavy looking door, he found himself cursing for giving the ID to Amy and Rouge, although another part of him reasoned that the guard’s ID level wouldn’t have been high enough to open the vault door anyways.
Suddenly, the vault door hissed open and he was met face to face with a mouse mobian, dressed in a suit, frozen in place from checking his rather expensive looking watch.
“Who gave you-“
Shadow didn’t give him much time to speak before he punched the mouse square in the nose, knocking him out and letting him fall to the floor. Unceremoniously, Shadow dragged the mouse back into the vault with him and let the door shut behind them. When he straightened, he saw it.
Floating in a small tube atop a pedestal in the middle of the room was the chip. It was small, like the other two, but it was teal, unlike the red and green ones he had. He made his way over to the microchip, he placed his hands on either side of the glass, ready to lift it up, and then-
“I mean, don’t you think it’s only fair that we each get two?” Shadow huffed and rolled his eyes.
“Blue Blur, I should’ve known you’d show up to ruin the fun.”
“On the contrary, I think the fun only starts when I get here.” Shadow dropped his hands and turned to glower at the stupid grin Sonic had smacked across his face.
“Annoying mobians do tend to think they’re the funniest in the room.”
“What? Are you trying to tell me Mister Delblont here is funnier than me?” The Blur clutched his chest in mock offense as he glanced down to the knocked out mouse.
“So that moron called you here?”
“Oh no, I have my own sources.”
“And those are?”
“How about I tell you in exchange for the chip behind you and both the ones in your arm.”
“Wow!” Shadow scoffed, “what an amazing deal- I’m afraid it’s a pass, rat.” With a snarl he raised his arm and fired the first shot.
Sonic dodged easily, which he was expecting. But it gave Shadow the split second he needed to turn around and grab the tube off it’s pedestal. Sonic came dashing towards him and Shadow felt the jets on his shoes power on as he glided away, skating deeper into the vault. He weaved around shelves and shelves of irreplaceable, expensive items. But the one in his hands was the only one he cared about. He glanced over his shoulder, Sonic was drawing closer- time to get rid of one of these shelves of irreplaceable items. Shadow skidded into a hard ninety degree turn, grabbing a large shelf with his free hand and toppling it over, sending it and it’s contents tumbling and shattering to the floor. He heard the Blue Blur grunt in pain before he dashed away again, heading back towards the door. Shadow gagged as Sonic rushed up behind him, grasping him by the back of his vest and tossing him behind him. The tube clattered out of his hands as he hit the wall.
Shadow was up in a split second, skating towards the tube as fast as he could, but sonic was faster. The Blue Blur scooped the tube up off the ground and dashed towards the door. Shadow skidded to make a sharp turn, back thumping against the large windows that let light flood into the vault as he held up his hand and fired a blast at the door, ruining the opening mechanism.
“Oh come on, I almost had it.” Sonic clicked his tongue. Shadow held back a smirk- the Blue Blur was starting to get annoyed. He could tell it in the way that he spoke, bitterly. And in the way that he slowly turned to face Shadow, who was poised tense against the wall, ready to dash. Sonic looked at Shadow through furrowed brows, although the tides weren’t in his favor, Shadow couldn’t deny that pissing the blue hedgehog off wasn’t one of his favorite parts of their fights. “You just don’t go away do you? Like a damn fly.” That time Shadow couldn’t help but laugh.
“You’re the one who followed me here- I think that makes you the fly.” Sonic growled in response.
The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife as the two hedgehogs glared at each other. Sonic wouldn’t be able to break out of here unless he used the windows- but Shadow doubted he would as he would risk breaking his cyborg legs.
Shadow felt his own legs tense as Sonic poised to move once more. They both waited and stared, waiting for the other to do something, anything. It was agony, but Shadow refused to make the first move.
Sonic dashed towards them, and Shadow felt that he had a stroke of genius. He waited until the very last moment, and then stepped aside. He reached out, just barely managing to bat the tube out of the Blue Blur’s hand before turning to watch him careen out of the window.
The glass shattered in every direction, Sonic cursed, and Shadow found himself cackling as he leaned down to pick up the tube. Sonic flailed in the air, pieces of shattered glass gleaming around him like a halo, and then- he was out of Shadow’s sight. With a surge of energy, Shadow was sucked into the familiar feeling of teleporting, and when he resurfaced he was at Blaze’s base.
Blaze was pacing back and forth, arms crossed over her chest, deep in thought. She barely spared him a glance before she continued to pace. He watched her skeptically- why the worry? He looked slowly and carefully around the base and found that… Blaze was the only one here.
“Where are Amy and Rouge?” He asked, Blaze rolled her eyes and continued what she was doing.
Finding himself seething in rage Shadow stormed over to her, pushing her out of her path by the shoulder and into the wall.
“I asked-!” He snarled, “where Amy and Rouge are?”
Blaze looked up at him surprised, be it by his sudden lack of decorum and disrespect, or the fact that he had bared his fangs at her. He didn’t much care to know which it was, whatever would get an answer was fine.
“I had to get the goods back here, they defended me for as long as they could, but he took them.”
“Who took them?” Shadow pressed, fearing that he already knew the answer.
“Doctor Robotnik.”

Divided We Fall
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Words: ~2.7k
Summary: In which she feels torn between the man she’s grown to love, whose ideas she agrees with, and her mentor and brother figure - who took her in with open arms and always accepted her when nobody else could.
Warnings: mentions of violence, angst, soft steve as always. you know the drill
A/N: tony’s your sort-of older brother (he took you in to train you not long before howard and maria passed), and you’re around steve’s age? I think? idk. includes a short IW scene but the time skip isn’t as drastic. SUPER SHITTY BC THIS IS A REALLY OLD ONESHOT

Steve stood alone in the isle after Peggy’s funeral, leaning against the pew as he stared blankly down at the ground with his hands stuffed in his pockets.
You silently approached him and without introduction, he began to speak. "When I came out of the ice, I thought everyone I had known was gone. Then I found out that she was alive. I was just lucky to have her."
"She had you back, too."
Steve looked up, meeting your gaze. "Who else signed?"
"Tony, Rhodey, Vision, Nat."
"Clint?"
"Says he's retired," you smiled slightly.
"Wanda?"
"TBD. I'm off to Vienna for the signing of the Accords. There's plenty of room on the jet."
Steve sighed and bowed his head.
"Just because it's the path of least resistance," you continued, "doesn't mean it's the wrong path. Staying together is more important than how we stay together."
"What are we giving up to do it?" He shook his head, unconvinced by your words. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I can't sign it."
"I know. I don't want to, either. But it's not like I have any other choice."
"The thing is, you do."
"You know why I am." You gave him a hard stare. "Tony...he's basically the only family I have left. I'm no longer a daughter, no longer a girl with dreams...no longer with hope. I'm a weapon. As much as I don't agree with him, betraying him is the last thing I wanna do. He’s my mentor. I can’t just turn against him like that...it wouldn’t feel right."
"Y/N..."
"You know what I've done," you took in a deep breath, "I don't want to hurt any more people. I don't want to be controlled by a government that might not deem everything big enough of a threat for us to go out and do something about it, but I can't risk any more than I already have. I don't have any other choice but to sign those Accords, Steve."
"Then what are you doing here?"
"I didn't want you to be alone."
You stepped forward, carefully pulling him into an embrace and at first, he tensed up at your touch but eventually relaxed, letting his arms wrap around you to pull you closer. And he just held you there, one arm wrapped tightly around your waist, the other one held to the back of your head. Your head was buried in his chest and the warmth of him felt so familiar and safe; oddly comforting, that your chest began to ache because you knew in a matter of time you'd be ripped apart again.
Steve felt guilty. Despite the fact that he was the majority of the reason why all of this was happening, you still found it in your heart to look past it all and forgive him, to accept him for who he was.
The broken woman standing before him was someone he'd grown to care about far more than he wanted himself to. Knowing that it wasn't long before you were taken away from him and forced to stand against him only made his grip around you tighten, as he was afraid to let you go out of his sight.
...
Seeing you across from him on the opposite side of the battlefield, standing firmly in between your Tony and T'Challa, broke his heart. If he was forced to fight Tony's team, he would. But he wasn't going to fight you, no matter what.
Everyone, while they were all busy fighting each other, could clearly tell something was going on between the two of you. But they didn't question it. They could clearly tell Steve loved you too much to even try and lay a finger on you and when someone else tried to, he quickly advanced on them.
You finally caved and turned last minute towards the end of the battle, unable to stand against the one man you cared about more than anyone else that wasn't family.
Everyone's actions followed with consequences. Though you'd switched sides abruptly, you'd been granted permission to stay with Tony at the compound under strict circumstances that you never stepped out of line again, or you'd be sent to the Raft prison along with the rest of Team Cap as well.
"Cap loves you, you know," Rhodey noticed your solemn expression as you, him, and Tony sat around in the lounge, taking in the aftermath.
You shook your head, squeezing your eyes shut as you pressed your fingers to your temples. "I made a mistake."
"We all make mistakes. People do bad things when they're trying to survive."
"Tony, I'm sorry," you turned over to the billionaire, "but I just...I couldn't stand against him. Not when we've stuck together for so long." The words that came out of Tony's mouth surprised you.
"I know. He couldn't do that, either."
"We've all done things that we'd like to take back," you murmured, staring down at your hands now in your lap, "Pain makes people change. I'd like to believe I didn't just do this, I didn't almost turn on you guys. You know I didn't want to sign. But I did, because you're like my family. I can't fight my own family." "He's made mistakes, yeah," Rhodey said, "but we've all messed up, you know. We’re only human.”
"My mistake was letting myself love someone I'd have to end up hurting eventually," you stated bitterly, a sharp edge to your voice.
"Cap made that same mistake, too," Tony spoke up. "We all screwed up. Some of us just have to find it in ourselves to forgive...but I don't know if I can do that yet."
"I know," you glanced over at him, "I miss them so much. Your parents...they changed my life for the better."
The billionaire took in a shaky breath. "I miss them too."
"You guys might wanna open this now," Rhodey handed you an envelope with your name on it, and Tony a package with a phone inside. "Tony Stank."
You snorted, and Tony cracked a small smile.
"Table for one, Tony Stank?" you joked.
"You're practically a Stank too, Y/L/N, you know that," he raised an eyebrow at you.
"Tony Stank just sounds funnier."
You quickly fell silent as you opened the letter.
Y/N, I'm glad you're back at the compound. I don't like the idea of you and Stark rattling around a mansion by yourself. We all need family. The Avengers are yours, maybe more so than mine. I've been on my own since I was 18. I never really fit in anywhere, even in the army. My faith's in people, I guess. Individuals. And I'm happy to say that, for the most part, they haven't let me down. Which is why I can't let them down either. Locks can be replaced, but maybe they shouldn't. I know I hurt you both. I guess I thought by not telling you about Howard and Maria that I was sparing you, but I can see now that I was really sparing myself, and I'm sorry. Hopefully one day you can understand. I wish we all agreed on the Accords, I really do. I know you're doing what you believe in, and that's all any of us can do. I know you didn't want to sign, but you were right in siding with your family. Even though you were on the opposite side of the battlefield, I couldn't fight you. I didn't want to hurt you. I still don't and I never will. No matter what happens. Just know that I ...
"Priority call from Secretary Ross," FRIDAY's voice drifted through the room, "There's been a breach at the Raft prison." "Yeah, put him through."
"Y/N, Tony, we have a problem, Cap and—" Ross called in.
"Ah, please hold," you interrupted.
"No, don't—"
You glanced back down at the letter in your hands, filled from top to bottom with Steve's elegant handwriting.
So, no matter what. I promise you, if you need us, if you need me, I'll be there. It's you, it always has been and it always will be, and I'm sorry for realizing that too late. I'm sorry for not being able to come back. I know I promised I'd always be by your side, and I will. Although I may not in the best situation to return right now, I promise you I'll see you soon. Take care, -S.R.
Several tears welled up in your eyes and slipped down your face as you closed the letter, staining the paper with dark spots.
"So, what'd he say," Tony took in your watery eyes and hard-set jaw. "Something wrong?"
"...He's on the run," your voice broke, "but they're all out. He broke them out.”
...
170 DAYS LATER
It was almost half a year of Team Cap jumping from motel to motel under different names and disguises every night, while still trying to defend the world as best as they possibly could. And when they were caught, Steve was sure that they'd be sent back.
"He'll come back soon, I'm sure of it," Rhodey reassured you as you watched the news of the search for Captain America was still underway. "When someone loves you the way he does, he's gonna find a way to return."
"He doesn't love me. I'm no better than a monster. And...I'm pretty sure he has heart eyes for Sharon."
"Well, he fucked up on that part," he agreed, clasping your shoulder, "but you know what? In the end, he still loves you. We all saw the way he looked at you back in Germany, he didn't want to hurt you. If he truly cared, he wouldn't hurt you even if you were on the opposing side, and that's what he did. I know he's gonna return: for your sake."
"I don't know why I'm letting myself do this."
"What? Loving him? That isn't anything new."
"New?"
"Sweetheart, I knew from the moment I first saw you look at him that you were. Look, love is worth fighting for, but sometimes you can't be the only one fighting. At times, people need to fight for you. You gotta be vulnerable and let him in your heart. Otherwise you'll keep feeling like you're in pain."
He did return.
You'd gone to trial and defended him under your name two weeks prior. Much to your current oblivion, your persuasion had worked and he was granted release and allowed to return, though he did so under the same strict circumstances given to you as well. He was warned to not pull off something like this a second time, and promise to ask for the government's aid whenever necessary.
So you're not expecting to buzz him and the others in late one Friday night.
"Y/N."
"Nat?"
"Can you buzz us in?"
"Uh...yeah, sure," you nodded, opening the gates to let them through. Within minutes, they were standing right in front of you, looking the exact same as they did five months ago, though the exhaustion was clear in all their faces.
"Greetings, Y/N." The android's arm was slung around Sam's shoulders, who was helping to hold him upright.
"Vision."
"It's good to see you guys, Rhodey greeted.
"t's great to see you too," Wanda smiled. She seemed to have aged a bit since you'd last seen her though she was only a teenager, but still looked much younger than everyone nonetheless.
"Well, you guys really look like crap. Must've been a rough couple of months."
"Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five-star," Sam shrugged. "Where's Clint?"
"After the whole Accords situation, him and Scott took a deal. It was too tough on their families, they're on house arrest," Natasha explained.
She turned to you and gave you a tight hug, squeezing your hand as she pulled away. "Hey. How you holding up?"
"Could be better," you gave her a sad smile. "I'm fine."
"Y/N, hey."
Steve stepped out from behind Wanda and Sam and took a few tentative steps towards you, his feet feeling heavier by the second.
The one man you thought you wouldn't be seeing again for a while was now in front of you, and you weren't sure how to react. Your heartbeat was deafeningly loud in your ears, drowning out the sounds of everything else as everyone fell silent upon seeing you two interact.
"Hey," you responded a few moments later, stuffing your hands in your jacket pockets. You lifted your head slowly, an unrecognizable sort of emotion flickering in your eyes for a brief second before you averted his gaze and looked back down at the ground.
He still looked the same, with his dirty-blonde hair and tall, muscular build, those piercing blue eyes and comforting arms. The sight of him alone made your chest ache and your stomach twist itself into knots at the same time you felt butterflies flying around. You hated that you allowed yourself to care about him so much, that your body still reacted to the sight of him even after not seeing him for so long.
"Uh...we'll give you two a moment," Sam awkwardly cleared his throat, leaving the room with the others.
When you glanced back up again you could see just how much being away had affected his overall appearance: his bright blue eyes that glittered with authority and passion had lost their light, red-rimmed and bloodshot with dark circles underneath that indicated it had been days since he last slept.
"I'm sorry, I know it took a while, but I'm here now. I missed you."
"I missed you, too," you said quietly. You swallowed hard, feeling the familiar sting to your eyes as you struggled to keep your tears at bay.
He sighed and wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close like you'd done to him before all those months ago, gently rubbing your back. Despite the heaviness in your stomach, it still fluttered at the feeling of your body pressed against his and you sunk into his warmth, his touch making the room feel warmer somehow. His arms that held you were soft and comforting, yet strong and firm at the same time, and the feeling of being so close to him was so dizzying to the point it made your head spin. But you didn't want to let go, so you held onto him as tight as you possibly could.
During the time of his absence, when the majority of your days were spent wandering around the compound alone, you taught yourself to ignore the pressing feeling in the back of your head, the way you felt as if there was some void in your heart that could only be filled by him and him alone. Day by day you attempted to convince yourself that no, you weren't falling in love with him, no, you weren't supposed to fall in love with him because it'd only destroy you in the end.
Yet you still did.
Always playing the part of promoting liberty and justice for all, Steve believed his sole purpose was to inspire and empower others to make the world a better place, blending into the mantra of 'a star-spangled man with a plan.' He always planned things out, always knew what he was doing.
So when he realized as he was holding you there in his arms, that he'd fallen in love with you, he didn't have a plan. And frankly, it terrified him.
He didn't have a plan, so he just decided to go with what his gut told him.
Steve brushed a stray hair that fell across your face and tucked it behind your ear. You looked up in surprise, heart hammering against your chest as his thumb brushed ever so gently against your cheek before he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours.
That's all he needed to do in order to eradicate all the anger, all the pent-up frustration and other emotion inside of you, to make you forgive him for every little thing that he's done to break your heart because there was nothing he could possibly do to make you love him any less.
"I love you," you mumbled as you pulled away, resting your head against his broad chest.
"I know. I love you too."

Still, Y/N decides to take a chance on what could be more than just friendship and meets Mark for the first time. (New Summary thanks to a friend)
NOTES: Quick update!! I was really inspired and cranked this chapter out quick. I’m already working on the next but not sure when it will be up. I’m busy at the end of this month. So fingers crossed I get the next out in August.
Part One // Part Two // Part Three // Part Four
Everything you owned was crap. It was either scrubs or jeans and a t-shirt. It wasn’t like you didn’t have nice outfits. However, when you looked at all of it thrown across your bed in panic, you couldn’t seem to find anything decent. All of it felt dull and lackluster for what was about to happen. As you picked up what you deemed the cutest pair of jeans you owned, a black skinny pant with nicely placed rips, you started to realize why Mark kept his secret for as long as he did. Knowing who he was to the outside world made you start to question yourself even more. It made you wonder if you were enough to even just be in his presence. People pay thousands of dollars to just give him a hi-five and here you were, cursing him out for 2 years over the internet for free. If only they knew…
Holding up shirt after shirt to your chest, each one making you even more disgusted than the last. There had to be something that didn’t scream ‘try hard’ or ‘disgusting creature’. Snatching literally the last shirt out of your closet which happened to be a high-low blue striped button down, you threw it on over the black cami you already had on. It was almost time for you to leave the house without being late and if you started this whole process over again, you wouldn’t even go.
While you looked in the mirror finalizing the touches on your make-up, you realized that this isn’t some sort of date. Why were you putting so much effort to receive an apology? Blinking those wayward thoughts away before you went down another hole, you grabbed your purse and rushed out of your freshly messy apartment.
You had only been to Mark’s place once, but the muscle memory was there because you had played the scenes over in your mind for almost a week. It felt like you were standing in front of the intimidating high-rise in no time. Your body was moving through mind fog as you punched in his code and waited to be buzzed up. Even the elevator ride felt like an out of body experience. It wasn’t until the door was opening and you looked up and saw Mark that your soul snapped back into you and you could focus.
“I hope it wasn’t a hard trip.” He said as the door widened and you crossed the threshold. It had only been six days since you last saw him, but the purple in his hair was almost gone and his dark roots were starting to show. Realizing that the hair choice probably wasn’t his, but was for his latest album, made your lips turn down slightly. He picked up on that and thought it was a non-verbal answer to his statement.
“I could have gotten you a taxi if the train was too crowded…” He trailed off.
“No, no. The ride was fine. I was noticing that your hair is a little different from last time.” You mumbled as you both hovered around each other. You could feel a slight pain start to form between your shoulder blades from all the tension in the room. Both of you locked eyes and it felt like you had entered a staring contest, and neither one of you were losers. It wasn’t until his hand reached out and took your wrist and led you to the living room and onto the couch, that you regained your senses.
“I’m sorry. I’m so freaking sorry.” His words came out rushed and pained. Your lips parted to respond but Mark held a hand up to stop you.
“Let me get this out first. I didn’t mean to keep it from you. Honestly, I thought that the moment I opened that door and you saw me, you were going to freak out cause you recognized me. When you didn’t, my plan went to shit and I fell into the comfort of just us hanging out. Believe me when I say I had every intention of telling you about my career. I just didn’t know how to come out and say I’m an idol singer.”
“Rapper.” You interjected. Mark’s head tilted slightly and confusion dipped his brows.
“You said idol singer. From what I looked up, you’re not really a singer. You’re the main rapper and lead dancer of the group. It also said you’re the visual which makes sense cause…” You waved your hands in front of your face to indicate your point that he’s gorgeous.
Mark’s laugh filled the room and it was exactly like those compilation videos you found of his laugh. A slight smile tugged at your lips as the atmosphere in the room started to lighten up. You were still mad and will probably be for a while but the big mad feeling was almost completely gone.
“So you did research? I bet the internet had some crazy things to say. Sin, I’m sorry that I wasn’t the one to tell you everything from the beginning. When you’re in the business I’m in, it’s hard making friends who aren’t also in the life or after you for something else. I was selfish because I really liked what we have or… had. I got addicted to the ease of just being myself with you.” He went on. His eyes dropped down as he talked about your relationship in the past tense. The wall that you unconsciously started to build since your last visit shook. Maybe it was the earnestness in his tone or the way he used your online nickname, but at that moment you kind of just wanted to hug him. Instead you did the only thing you could do in this situation.
“Now that you said that, are you gonna show me some of your backflips? They looked really impressive on youtube.” You smirked as his head shot up and looked at you in surprise. The smirk turned into a full smile and the tension started to melt away when his toothy grin appeared.
“I can even teach you some moves but I don’t know your flexibility level.” Mark joked and that’s how the rest of the afternoon went. He started to talk about how he joined the company and his trainee period. I knew it was hard on young kids but hearing it first hand made you want to throw on a cape and save them all from the heartache. When he calmed down your anger, Mark talked about the traveling he did all over the world with the group. He talked about how they were more than just bandmates and more like brothers. Even mentioning some stories you found through your ‘research’, but hearing them from him made them ten times funnier.
“Remind me to never get you upset where you can throw a laptop at me.” You joked. The sun had gone down outside and now you both were sitting on the floor, take-out containers covered the table. Hours had passed and you only realized how many when you tried to hide a yawn and Mark check the time on his phone.
“Time flew by. I guess you have to get going soon?” His eyes were like tea cups as they looked over to you. The last thing you wanted was to have this good time end but you had worked a full shift yesterday and had to be on in the morning as well. It didn’t help that you left your apartment in such a mess, it looks like it was probably burglarized.
“Yeah… I’m sure your roommates want to come home too. What did you tell them that made them give you the place to yourself?” You asked as you started to clean up the mess created. Piling the dishes into one, Mark took them from you and moved them toward the door.
“Most of them had schedules, so the house was gonna be empty anyway. Though I did have to promise Yugyeom and Bambam that I would treat them to meat soon. Are you going to take a taxi? It’s pretty late.” Between his worrying, you both cleaned up rather quickly. In no time, you looked around and the space was back to normal and Mark was standing with his hands pulling at his hoodie sleeves. You noticed that he did that when he felt unsure about something or wanted to word vomit.
“I’ll take one just because you insist. But what is it, sweater paws?” Reaching forward and tugging on the hood strings, you asked him. It was clear why he had so many fans. The half smile he gave was a weapon of ovary destruction and shouldn’t be used all willy nilly. How rude…
“I’m glad you came over. I’m also glad we’re talking again. And now that you know everything , I have a work thing tomorrow. It isn’t long though. Just need to go film a spread for a magazine. I’ll be back by next weekend. Promise.” Mark picked up your bag and played with the strap of it before closing the distance and looping it over your head, adjusting it. The height difference between the two of you wasn’t gigantic, but it was enough that had your neck tilting back a bit.
“It’s okay. Remember, I’m used to Ghosty McGhostington. You don’t have to worry too much.” Before you could even stop yourself, your thumb reached out and smoothed the little wrinkle between his brows. The level of skin-ship you were exhibiting wasn’t the norm for you. But the way he didn’t recoil from your touch allowed you the brief moment of insanity and for you to place your hand casually on your strap without looking like a crazy person. You thought you saw a hint of a smile on his lips, but it was so faint, you’re sure you imagined it.
“I’m calling you a car, and before you say something, don’t. And text me when you get home, okay?” You wanted to argue that you were independent and didn’t need him to do that, but a part of you thought it was sweet. In all honesty, when it was just you and him talking and playing around like you’ve done for so long virtually, the idea of him being a celebrity was a foreign concept. He was just Mark to you.
Once he was finished punching in some numbers on his phone and you came out of your own head, he walked you to the door. That smile you thought was just a shadow was now plastered on his face and it had the chain reaction of making you smile in return. Your hands squeezed harder on your bag strap because every fiber of your being was telling you to just reach out and hug this dorky guy smiling at you. But instead you held your hand out for a hi-five like the loser you were becoming.
“Thanks for inviting me over and I'm glad we cleared things up. Uh, hit me up if you get some free time. Or not, it's whatever.” Shrugging off the awkwardness, Mark connected with your hand with a look of confusion and before he could say anything, you darted from his apartment. It was becoming a habit of yours to flee every time you were there. Your flight or fight response was out of whack because with anything else in your life you were all about fighting. However, wherever Mark was concerned, you flew out of there like a bat out of hell.
By the time you were walking through your door, you were so distracted by thoughts from your day that you forgot that you left your place in a state of utter disgust. The vibrating of your phone made you forget all about the clothes covering almost every inch of available surface because of course it was Mr. Tuan himself in your inbox.
Mark: U made it?
Sin: You* and yeah, just walked in.
Mark: Ha ha ha. Are you tired?
Sin: Depends, why do you ask?
Mark: Wanna get online for like an hour? I’m a bit wired and we haven’t properly played in a while. Miss it…
Sin: Don’t you have a flight to catch in the morning?
Mark: Yeah but I can sleep on the plane. Are you scared I’m gonna kick your ass? ;-)
Sin: Signing on right now so get the lube because I’m about to tear you a new one.
And just like that, Mark brought you back to a comfortable mindset. The root in which your friendship grew from.
Finally, it was Friday, but you were antsy as hell. The clock was ticking down to the end of your shift, but it felt as if it was moving as slow as if you were sinking in a mudflat. Bora and Ahin, another first year resident, were finishing up your shifts so the three of you could do your weekly Karaoke night. But it wasn’t only the promise of a night of chicken, beer and bad singing that had you anxious. Mark was coming back from his trip tomorrow and it had you on pins and needles.
The two of you had been texting while he was away. You were sure it was more than he should actually be doing during a work trip, but now that there weren’t any omitted truths between you, he would tell you about everything that was happening, within reason. When you asked for pictures, he couldn’t give you any official ones, but he did snap a few selfies of his face filled with pretty eyeshadows and lip tints. He really did clean up well.
As you were changing out of your scrubs, your phone pinged and like a pavlov response, your hand reached and opened your texts with Olympian speed.
Mark: What are you doing Sunday?
Sin: Washing my hair, shaving my back, catching up on sleep. Lol why?
Mark: Sexy. I need a favor from you.
Sin: If it involves money, we might need to reevaluate our friendship.
Mark: No money involved, but I would like it if you said yes.
Sin: Okay you’re being cryptic. Are you sick?
Mark: No. But will you say yes before I ask?
Sin: Sure, what is it?
After asking that, the little dots jumped across the screen as he typed his response. You stood there in your jeans and scrub top, staring at your phone like a crazy person. What did he have to ask that was so important? Bora and Ahin walked into the locker room and started to change themselves while you waited.
“What’s going on? Your face is all scrunched up?” Ahin asked as she hung up her lab coat. Just as you were about to tell her, Mark’s bubble appeared…
Mark: Will you go on a date with me? Not as a friend, but as a woman. A date date.
Your heart dropped into your stomach with a clatter. When you heard your name being yelled by Bora, you looked down and realized that it wasn’t just your heart that dropped, but also your phone on the floor. Quickly dropping down and picking it up, you looked at the words over; Woman. Date. You sucked in all the oxygen you could manage and sighed.
“Well shit…”

Okay hear me out, Izumi was a babysitter for Masumi when he was young and one day she tells him how lonely she is too due to her dad leaving and her mom working constantly. So lil Masumi then promises to marry her so they can no longer be lonely anymore. Cue Act 1 where he finally meets her again but she doesn’t remember him. Masumi then promises himself to make sure she’s never lonely, even if it means hooking her up with another guy (whoever you want it to be) and losing his first love/crush.
the inevitable
"Then let's get married when we're older." Masumi said, serious. He was sitting across from Izumi on the large sofa in his living room, both of them on either side.
Izumi was quietly explaining to Masumi how she enjoyed his company, despite their eight year age gap; him being eight while she was sixteen.
She spent most of her days taking care of Masumi in his home. It would be school and then babysitting, school, babysitting, school, babysitting—you get the gist.
It's not that Izumi had to do it. She could have easily said no. Even now, she could just stand up and leave if she wanted to, just as long as she called an assistant or a maid or another worker who would watch over Masumi until they found someone new.
But Izumi liked it here. The silence in her own home was far too quiet and she didn't really mind filling in the empty space at a lonelier kid's house.
He was easy to take care of, a quiet child who liked to do things on his own which allowed Izumi to do her school work. She'd play music for the both of them to relax to as they did their own things, Masumi more often than not asking her who the artist was or what the song was called.
Masumi was a cute one, too. Izumi liked to pinch his chubby cheeks whenever it was time for Masumi to eat his lunch or his dinner for the day and he let her, when normally he didn't like it when others approached him this way.
She'd been taking care of this kid for a while, and she saw him like a little brother.
"I– what? Why?" Izumi laughed in surprise and leaned back into her corner of the sofa with a smile. To receive such a sudden proposal from a kid was amusing, but what was funnier to her was that Masumi didn't look like he was joking.
There was an indignant frown on his face as he crawled across the sofa to sit closer to Izumi.
"I don't want you to feel lonely anymore." He murmured shyly, reaching out with his small hands to envelope one of Izumi's own. She smiled at his sincerity and ruffled his hair with her unoccupied hand, offering up the empty space in her arms for the child to crawl into to comfort him.
It looked like he had accidentally brought his own mood down.
"I'm used to it, Masumi-kun." She soothed, gently petting his hair.
"I, for one, don't want you to feel lonely. That's why I always pick you up from school and stay with you in your house until you go to sleep."
"I don't feel lonely. I don't care." Masumi grouched unhappily at Izumi's words and sulked into her side, his rest resting on her shoulder while she cradled him in one arm, a manuscript balancing itself on her thighs.
"That's not something you should say." She scolded him, looking away from the child's grumpy face to skim over the text on her lap.
"Whatever. I'm going to marry you once I'm old enough, and I'm going to always be by your side." He vowed for the both of them and dug his face into the crook of Izumi's neck while she let out another laugh, flipping through the pages to her book.
"Okay, kiddo."
After that day, Izumi continued to take care of him for a few months until the devastating news that Masumi was going to be living abroad for the next few years surfaced. Even worse was that, Izumi's mother was set on moving away too as they had found a new home to live in; a home for just two people.
Masumi was in tears when Izumi decided to say goodbye to him at the airport before he and his small family left, and he clung onto her desperately when he was told that they needed to head to terminal.
"Izumi, I don't want to go." He sobbed into her chest and clutched at her as she was the only thing that tied him down to this world. It broke Izumi's heart.
"I don't want you to either, but it'll be hard for me to convince your parents to stay." She explained to him; trying to avoid words like 'can't'. If she used a word that had negative connotations like that, it would only hurt Masumi more and make him confused.
'Why can't you?' She could hear him ask.
Before the two could say anything else, Masumi was pried away from Izumi by his father, the young child letting out another sob that nearly ripped Izumi's heart out.
And that was the last time they saw each other until another eight years had passed.
God, when Masumi saw her again.. it felt like he had ascended to Heaven.
He moved back to Japan once his parents deemed him old enough to live on his own in their old house, sending him home at the age of fourteen.
It had been two years since he came back and not once did he see her until today.
He was walking around Veludo Station when he saw Izumi and Sakuya performing a street act; and when he saw her all grown up and pretty, it felt like a truck had hit him.
His heart was stuck in his throat when she noticed him staring, and he quickly hopped down to where she stood with Sakuya, effectively startling the two.
"If you're a part of the troupe.. I'll join." He muttered, much to the joy of Izumi, Sakuya, and that old looking dude.
He smiled a little when he saw how her eyes sparkled with relief, but wasn't sure what to make of it when she gave him another glance and didn't seem to recognise the little boy she used to care for.
So it was a bitter feeling as time dredged on at Mankai with Izumi still not realising that he was Masumi Usui, the Masumi Usui that she babysat when they were younger.
That bitter feeling would turn impossibly more acrid when he'd watch her interact with the other men in the company, but it was even worse when he would notice her working alone in the dining area or the lounge room; piles of papers seemingly neverending as she silently worked into the night.
It was an image he never wanted to see.
She worked tirelessly to keep this company afloat and on top of that travelled around the city to help with other theatres, never giving herself a break nor the time to just eat and recharge, let alone spare any time for anyone to have a conversation with.
Watching her from areas she wouldn't figure out he was hiding in, Masumi would feel his heart sink whenever she finished for the night, picking up her materials to leave for her room.
There was no one to sit beside her or come and fetch her. No one to kiss her head and tell her that she did well. No one to hold her hand and tell her that she shouldn't be working so hard when there are others that she can rely on.
Masumi wanted to be the person to do that; wanted to be the person who took hold of that special finger on her left hand to be able to do all of those things.
But how could he when their promise to marry was left in the dust? Her memories of him forgotten and pushed all the way to the back of her mind?
...and then there was Sakyo.
That good for nothing Yakuza piece of crap who dared to even insinuate that he would use Izumi's body to pay off the debt.
Masumi was seething in his bed when he found out that that man would be joining their company.
"I don't like him." Masumi said one morning while eating his breakfast with Sakuya and Itaru, scooping a spoonful of fried rice into his mouth with a glare.
"What, 'cause it's obvious he likes the Director?" Itaru chuckled and took a sip of his coffee, tapping away at something on his screen while Sakuya looked over to see Izumi and Sakyo discussing something important in the lounge area.
"Well– yeah. But he's mean to her too." Masumi muttered glumly, poking at his egg with his spoon. Sakyo would always be caught glaring or staring at Izumi, as if waiting for her to do something wrong so that he could clean it up right away.
Masumi didn't like how Sakyo did that, but Izumi never seemed to mind.
"'Cause he cares?" Itaru scoffed, coffee spoon hanging from his mouth while he let a grumpy Masumi steal some of his breakfast.
"You ever experience tough love, kid?"
"Only Izumi's." Masumi sighed, resting a hand on his chest to calm his running heart. Then Masumi paused. “Wait. Does that mean Izumi loves me?”
“Uh.” Itaru tapped his spoon against his tongue. “Yes and no.”
Sakuya smiled at the gentle answer Itaru gave and looked at Masumi with a gentle look in his eyes, reaching out to pat his junior on the shoulder. “I’m sure Izumi’s in good hands with Sakyo, Masumi. I think...he has all the things that the director needs.”
“What do you mean?” The young boy frowned, to which both Sakuya and Itaru shared a brief glance.
“Well. He’s mature.” Itaru listed off.
“I’m mature for my age.” Masumi argued back.
Itaru ignored it. “He’s responsible.”
“Me too.” Masumi gritted.
“And he’ll always be there for Izumi. Right by her side.” Itaru finished off, talking as if he knew what he was talking about as he took the last sip of his coffee and stood up from the dinner table to put his cup in the sink.
“There’ll come a day when you leave with everyone else, Masumi.” The adult warned gently, patting the kid’s hair while lazily shrugging his business coat on. “But it’s quite obvious that Sakyo has his reasons for being here.”
And it was then, that Masumi felt his heart drop. Because Itaru was right. He could very much well be taken back overseas by his father again if he so choose to; reminded of the time when he had to part with Izumi when they were younger.
Would she forget him again if he had to go? Would he be removed from her memories again? Would he have to experience meeting her for the first time all over again if he came back?
Masumi wasn’t sure if he wanted to go through that again. If Masumi had to leave; he wasn’t sure if he wanted to come back at all.
The pain he felt when she looked at him with no sign of recognition was almost unbearable.
He didn’t have a viable enough reason to stay here. He knew his father would drag him back to his own home anytime, and Masumi wouldn’t have a good enough reason to keep him from doing that.
But Sakyo did. Sakyo was here because he was indebted to someone, and because he held a history in this very theatre.
What did Masumi have?
Nothing.
“Don’t think too hard about it.” Itaru consoled the silent child who sat with Sakuya and left the pair with a solemn bow. He saw how the light slowly left Masumi’s eyes and heard how loud the cogs in his head were turning.
Itaru was sorry.
“Hey.” Sakuya prodded, lightly patting Masumi on the back to make him snap out of it. “You can stay home today. I’ll ask the director if she can call the principal to report your absence.”
“Okay.” Masumi murmured, picking at his egg once more before eating whatever was left on his plate. Izumi always told him never to waste his food.
He hated how Itaru was right, but he didn’t have the power to do anything about it.
But just because he’s leaving Izumi in Sakyo’s hands doesn’t mean that he’s going to leave her be. He’ll still be there for her when he sees that nobody else is. He’ll still stay by her side until he has to be ripped away from her.
He knew he wasn’t going to be here for long, so could you really blame him?
She was just going to forget about him when he left anyways.
But at least he’ll leave knowing that she isn’t alone anymore.

Anna arrived back at her guests’ dressing room just in time. The good thing about being late, it gave you no time to think too much about the things you were doing or had just happened in an office across the venue.
“Alright, gentlemen. Good to see you all found your way back after lunch. It’s now time for your signing booths and as a great finish to this day, we have your panel”, she told them and waited in the open door for the three men to walk out and get going.
“Nice choice with the top there”, Sebastian said as he walked past her. “Shut up”, she rolled her eyes and looked at her printouts once again. “Trouble in paradise?”, Anthony asked with a pulled up eyebrow and seemed to enjoy this little back and forth. “It would feel like a paradise to me if you all would get going to your signings already”, she said with a fake smile and led the way through the hall towards the big door out to the general area.
Right at the door, Melvin was waiting for them to accompany the Civil War group through the fans. “Better?”, she asked him with a little side look. “Way better”, Melvin said with an approving nod and held his left fist up for a fist bump. She smashed her knuckles against his and couldn’t hold back a laugh.
Melvin really was one of the funnier security guards she had worked with in the last few years. He did a great job in guiding them through the crowds that gathered as soon as the men came closer without being too rough or pushing people aside. But to be fair, the fans were behaving really well.
Anna allocated her protégées to their signing booths and when she saw that everything was going smoothly, she walked over to the hall where they would have the panel to see if they were ready for them. People already started to gather at the entrances and were soon to be let in. She already saw that this was going to be a big crowd.
Anna couldn’t imagine speaking in front of such a crowd, let alone being funny and witty like Anthony was when she watched him speak about 90 minutes later from the side of the stage. He was sitting on a couch next to Sebastian and Chris was sitting in a big chair to Sebastian’s left. The interviewer was great as well, especially when he pulled out a bag of plums as a joke Anna didn’t get because she hadn’t seen the movie, but everybody cheered and laughed. Sebastian was taking a big bite of a plum and the juice was dripping over his lip onto his chin. Anna caught herself staring and wanting to lick the juice right off his skin.
Anna coughed and quickly looked away to calm herself down again. She felt her cheeks blushing. It had never happened to her that a man could do this to her without even touching or at least talking to her. He was just sitting up there, talking to the crowd or his fellow actors and friends and the way he did it, with such confidence, excitement and pure joy made her want to…ride him until he screamed her name.
Jesus Christ, what was she thinking? She really needed some fresh air. And a drink. She really needed a drink!
Outside the hall, Anna ran into Susan and they had a quick chat about the day so far and the work at such an event to get her mind off things until they heard the final applause from inside. Anna went back in just as the three actors finished the last photographs on stage and greeted them behind the curtains when they came off stage.
“Great panel, you guys. The crowd loved you”, she smiled into the little circle they had formed. “This actually marks the end of today. You’re free to go and I will see you tomorrow at 10 am”, she said and felt like a teacher dismissing her class. “It was nice to meet you, Anna”, Anthony said and hugged her goodbye. Anna was a bit surprised by that but hugged him back. Anthony was a really loveable guy and you immediately liked him when you met him. Chris hugged her as well and thanked her for her work today.
If he actually knew how hard she had worked all day long to contain herself around Sebastian and to do her job…
Then it was down to Sebastian. “Good job today”, she said to him which was the truth. “No hug?”, he playfully pouted and opened his arms. She wanted to say no but she knew it would look weird and more suspicious than if she just did it. “Of course”, she said and tried to put on a professional smile. She kept it short and almost jumped away from him when it was over.
“Okay, see you tomorrow”, she waved at the three of them and walked over to the employees area since Amber was here to escort them out, which Anna was very happy about.
While all the guests and the first fans started to leave, the staff, including Anna, had a meeting to talk about today and the next and final convention day. New schedules and printouts were handed out and after long 80 minutes everybody was dismissed.
“Now let’s get you to your hotel, you poor thing look like you could use some sleep”, Susan said to Anna and patted her shoulder. Just when Susan said that to her, Anna felt how tired she actually was and she couldn’t wait to get to the hotel and sleep until the next morning.
They got Annas suitcase and hopped into the next free cab they could find. Susan told the driver where to go and Anna almost fell asleep in the soft cushions of the backseat.
She must have actually drifted off because she felt like the cab had just took a left turn and then Susan told her that they have arrived. “I’m meeting with some friends from the convention for drinks later, if you want to join, you’re more than welcome”, Susan said as they walked through the doors of the hotel.
Before Anna could answer, she had to cover her mouth with her hand because of a big yawn that came just at the right moment. “Oh, poor thing, where is my head? You clearly just want to go to bed”, Susan shook her head over her own stupid question. “You just quickly check in and then straight to bed, okay?”, she said and held Anna an arm length away, with her hand on her shoulders. “That’s the plan”, Anna smiled and then hugged Susan goodbye. While Anna walked towards the reception, Susan quickly went to the elevators to change and then go back out again.
Anna received her key card, grabbed the handle of her suitcase and walked over to the elevators. She pushed the button and waited for one of the doors to open. “Hey Anna”, she heard behind her and turned around. She didn’t even notice the entrance to the bar of the hotel before, but now Anthony was coming towards her right out of that very door.
“Hey, Anthony”, she greeted him, kind of relieved that it was just him. “I didn’t know you were staying here as well”, he said and hugged her. “I didn’t know it myself until now. My colleague just brought me here, didn’t have time to check in this morning”, she explained. “Me and the guys are having drinks, come join us”, Anthony offered. The guys? Sebastian was here as well? Of course he was staying at the same hotel. She had to concentrate really hard not to roll her eyes.
“That’s really nice, but I’m very tired. I’m glad I’m not falling asleep standing here”, she said and hoped he would not try any longer to invite her for a drink. Well, he didn’t get the memo…
“Come on, just one drink. I think we all could use one after today. See it as a nightcap”, he suggested and stood in front of her with an inviting gesture towards the bar. Nightcap…if this one turned out like the last one she had, she wouldn’t get much sleep this night either. She wanted to say no again but somehow she knew he wouldn’t give up and she didn’t have the power to hold against him. Also Anna really craved a drink.
“Alright, just give me 5 minutes to get my suitcase up to my room and freshen up”, she sighed and just at that moment, the elevator arrived to take her up to her room. “And don’t you dare cop out, I’ll find you and drag you down myself”, he joked but Anna wasn’t too sure about it. She was 90 percent sure that he would actually do it.
“Yeah, yeah, just order me a drink…anything with alcohol will be fine”, she said and had to smile when she saw Anthonys satisfied face that he was able to convince her to join their little after work drinking. What was the worst that could happen? Both of them had to behave in front of Chris and Anthony and she really needed him to.
Anna got up to her room and tried not to pay too much attention to the comfortable looking bed in front of her and walked right into the bathroom to remove her make-up and wash her face with cold water to wake her up a bit. She brushed her hair and put on just a little mascara to look alive. She then changed her clothes to a blue top and a white knee long skirt. Anna was glad she had a second pair of high heels with her. She would have loved to wear her sneakers but that would look just stupid with the skirt. And to know that Sebastian was down there, she at least wanted to look decent.
She grabbed her keycard and when she was about to leave the room, caught her reflection in the mirror by the door. A little lipstick couldn’t hurt. Anna rushed back to the bathroom, applied a berry colored lipstick and then finally left her room.
Downstairs at the bar, she looked over the room with a searching view and discovered Anthonys face at a table in the back corner. She walked over and he saw her first. “Anna, I’m glad you actually came”, he said and got up to greet her with hug and let her slide onto the bench of the booth. “I didn’t dare to stay away”, she laughed and sat down. She ended up sitting in the middle of Anthony and Chris, which she greeted with a little sitting hug, and Sebastian was sitting across the table from her. She just gave him a nod and a little mouthed Hey.
“We ordered you a drink. Sebastian recommended a Jack Daniels”, Anthony said and placed a glass with brown liquor in front of her. “I thought you might like it”, Sebastian said with a flirty voice before he took a sip from his own drink. “I came to like it recently”, she said and looked straight at Sebastian when she took her first sip, remembering how she tasted it on his lips the last time. He looked right back, with a smug grin on his face, basically eyefucking her. Chris and Anthony exchanged some looks that Anna and Sebastian didn’t even notice.
“So, Anna, tell us a bit about yourself”, Anthony said and turned himself a bit to face her. “Is this a job interview?”, Anna laughed, happy that she could distract herself by looking at Anthony. “No, no, but we don’t know anything about you and you probably know anything about us”, he explained. “I wouldn’t go that far, but I know a few things; just the basics really”, she waved off. “Where do you come from?”, he kept asking. “Originally, I’m from Chicago, but I moved to New York for work with my sister when I was twenty, that was…ah, 7 years ago”, she told him. “Sebastian lives in New York too. It’s a miracle you two didn’t run into each other at some point”, he said and threw a little side look to his friend.
Anna turned her head as well for a second and caught Sebastian rolling his eyes. “It’s still New York, I don’t think that’s a miracle at all”, Chris joined the conversation. “Yes, I think so too”, Anna laughed and looked at Chris. “You’re from Boston, right? My brother in law is from there”, she said. “Oh really?”, he asked with honest interest, at least it seemed to her. “Yes, he’s a great guy, but that seems to be Boston number one’s export”, she joked and Chris actually blushed a bit.
She took a quick look at Sebastian to see his reaction about her flirting with his friend. He just looked at her with a light grin on his face like he was saying, “Nice try”.
“They got married 4 years ago and moved to New Jersey. A year later their daughter Rebecca arrived and last month we celebrated little Nicky’s first birthday”, she told them and didn’t know why she gave them the life story of her sister Marissa. Probably to avoid talking about herself because there was really nothing to tell.
Apart from last night, there wasn’t happening anything exciting or remotely interesting in her life. And that’s although she was meeting a lot of rich and sometimes actually famous people at the events she worked at.
“Is she your older sister?”, Anthony asked. “She’s actually two years younger and I hear that every time I go back home. For my mother, having your life together, means having a husband and kids”, she said and looked down at her drink which she took a big sip of. She started to like that drink and not just because of what or whom she associated it with.
“Oh I get that. Both my sisters are married and the oldest has 3 kids and my mom keeps reminding me that I’m not getting any younger”, Chris said and took a sip from his beer. “Oh no”, Anna laughed and felt weirdly connected to Chris because of their moms.
They kept on talking a bit more about their mothers and siblings and then moved on to Annas job in New York and she told them a bit about some weird guest requests or ones that were hard to handle.
The waiter had just brought her second drink, a Cosmopolitan, her absolute favorite, with a little piece of lime on the edge of the glass.
Anna felt more comfortable around Sebastian, probably due to the alcohol she had consumed without having something to eat, but she felt good. Actually she felt a little flirty and this time she directed it towards Sebastian to see what he would do with it.
While Anthony and Chris told a story from shooting the last Captain America movie, Anna looked at Sebastian when she took a sip of her drink. When she put her glass down again, she took the lime and put it up to her mouth. Just like after a shot of tequila, she put her lips around the fruit and sucked the juice out of its flesh. Little splashes of it dropped down her chin and she licked her lips to catch it. Sebastian, who had been leaning back in his chair, sat up straight and rested his elbows on the table, leaning closer to her. With her thumb, she caught the drops off her chin and sucked them off. Sebastian licked his lips as a reply to it.
“Alright, it’s getting pretty late, I think I’m gonna go to bed”, Chris said and ripped Anna out of her stare. She didn’t even notice that the two had stopped talking. She was weirdly embarrassed and looked down to hide her blushing face. “You’re right, it’s late. I should go to bed too”, she hastily said and didn’t dare to look at Sebastian again to not make him take it as an invitation. “No, stay, your drink is still half full”, Chris waved it off and almost pushed her back down onto her seat.
“Anthony, you’re tired too, right? Accompany me to the elevators”, Chris said and looked at him very intensively. “Nah, I’m good”, he shrugged his shoulders and looked at Anna and then Sebastian with a big grin. “That wasn’t a suggestion”, Chris said through clenched teeth, still trying to hold up his smile. Sebastian dropped his head, clearly getting what his friends or more like just Chris, was trying to do.
Anthony got up very unwillingly and Chris and he hugged her goodbye. Anna lightly shook her head as she watched them walk away. “Did you tell them about us?”, she asked with an angry look on her face. Tomorrow would be one hell of a day!
“I didn’t need to. You were basically sucking that piece of lime dry while eye-fucking me, right here. And I happen to know you're not too bad at this sort of thing”, he smirked and took a sip from his drink. Anna rolled her eyes. “Oh, shut up”, she sighed.
“I don’t get why you’re still trying to convince yourself that you don’t like me”, he said and leaned back in his seat again. “It’s because I don’t like you, we just shared a…night together”, she responded and had to hold back a descriptive word like awesome, mind-blowing or orgasmic.
“If that doesn’t make you like me, what will?”, he joked and ran his fingers through his hair. “I’m working at the Wizard World which makes you a client. My contract actually forbids me to like you”, she said and took another sip from her drink. “You’re off work right now”, he held against it and thought that this was reason enough.
It started to make her mad that he was taking everything so lightly. It annoyed her so much because she would love to be able to forget about her work ethics and just give in to him but she just didn’t do stuff like this. She has always been the good girl. If she had known that Sebastian was a client, she would never have let him into her room last night, let alone her pussy.
But god, those blue eyes and the way he was looking at her…she would really love to give in…just one last time…
She grabbed her glass and emptied it with one sip. “You’re right, that’s why I go to bed”, she said determined, grabbed her keycard and scooted out of the booth. Sebastian dropped his head with a huff.
When Anna was like two steps away, she turned around and said, “Are you coming or what?” and then started walking towards the elevators. Sebastians head shot up and he looked at her with surprise that quickly turned into a dirty smile, but Anna just kept on walking and didn’t even see his reaction. She pressed the button for the elevators and tried to calm the butterflies in her stomach. This would only count as cool if he would follow her.
Just as the doors slid open and Anna stared into an empty elevator, he suddenly spun her around and pushed her in until her back hit the mirrored wall. With a little side-bend, he pushed the button for his floor and even before the doors closed, he pressed his mouth onto hers and let his tongue slide into her mouth. Her fingers ran through his hair, pulling on them to get him even closer to her. She bit and sucked his lower lip and felt the rush of having him that close and she wanted to feel his hands all over.
Anna didn’t know what had gotten into her but she sure hoped that it would be Sebastian in a few minutes!
The elevator stopped and it took them a second to realize that the doors had opened. Sebastian let go of her mouth and took her hand. He guided her to his room. A little green light lit up when he put his key card into the lock and then the door swung open. “Just so you know, I paid for our drinks”, he said with a smirk. “Was about time”, she said as she walked into his room, turned around and kissed him again before he got the chance to close the door.
He put his hands on her ass and lifted her up. As a reaction, she wrapped her legs around his waist and he had to push the door close with his foot. Her skirt was rid up at her waist and his hands were touching her bare skin. For a second she wished she wouldn’t even wear panties right now just to see what his reaction to this discovery would have looked like.
“Remember…what you…said…to me…earlier today?”, Anna asked between kisses. Sebastian just nodded as he walked into his bedroom, carrying her on his waist. “I wanna hold you to your word”, she mumbled at his lips. Anna could feel very clearly how much he remembered their little talk at the coffee bar.
Instead of carrying her to the bed as she had assumed, he walked over to the big window that went almost from top to bottom. He put her down and spun her around. Anna supported herself on her hands pressed against the cold glass. It looked like they were pretty high up, but she was still afraid that someone could see her. But no light was switched on in his room and standing here in the dark room made it feel even more like a secret and it sure turned her on.
“Don’t turn around”, he whispered at her ear and then sucked at the soft skin behind it which caused her head to drop back onto his shoulder. His hands wandered from her sides to her front and up to the straps of her top. He pulled it straight down together with her bra, resting it on her rib cage, just enough so he had access to her breasts. He pinched her nipples hard with his fingers which caused her to gasp and stick her ass out, meeting with his crotch and his hard cock. She could feel it pulsating through his jeans.
Sebastian put one hand on her back and slowly pushed her upper body down so her ass was high up. The next second she felt his hands pull up her skirt that had went down a bit when he had put her down, all the way up until it was rolled up at her waist. With one flowing motion he pulled down her panties all the way to her ankles. She inhaled loudly as the cool air was touching her wet center, but she wasn’t able to catch a clear thought because the next moment she felt Sebastians tongue gliding through her wet folds, all the way from bottom to top. “Oh fuck”, she pressed out, arching her back and stuck her ass out even more.
Just when she thought it couldn’t get any better, she felt two fingers glide into her throbbing pussy. “Sebastian”, she hissed and leaned her forehead against the cold glass. “God, you look so hot, Anna”, he said and she could hear how hard he tried to control himself. Oh, how she wished he wouldn’t! Just when she thought he would let her come, he pulled his fingers back out and she felt cold where his mouth had been. She wanted to see his face, to touch him, but he had told her to not turn around and she really wanted to know what he was up to.
Anna heard the rustling of clothes being taken off and dropped to the floor and she bit her lower lip in anticipation. Then she heard the sound of a package ripped open. “Do you have any idea how hot you look with your ass stuck out and your panties dangling at your ankles?”, he asked and she had to close her eyes to keep her from coming right there from hearing his words.
He slightly pulled up her right foot a bit to remove her panties from one leg to spread her legs a bit further. He rubbed his rock hard cock along her drenched pussy. Without further warning he pushed all the way in, causing Anna to scream out loud. “Fuck”, he said through clenched teeth. After two, three slow strokes, he started to pick up the pace, holding her steady at her hips.
Standing in front of him, with her ass out, still in her heels, he was able to push in deep with every thrust. The room was filled with the sound of heavy breathing and their bodies smashing together. “Oh god, Sebastian, fuck me hard”, she pressed out with a moan, pushing herself further against him with her hands on the window. She didn’t even care if somebody would see them right now. She wasn’t able to form any clear thoughts in her head besides the wish for Sebastian going even deeper than he already was.
Her head was pulled back by her hair and her next moan got stuck in her throat. “Tell me what you want, babe”, he grunted close to her ear. “I want you to make me cum”, she moaned and the thing she felt wasn’t just warm, it was hot, burning hot, rapidly building up from her center, rushing over her whole body. She started to clench her walls around his hard, throbbing cock and couldn’t wait for the moment her orgasm would wash over her. Literally a second before it happened, he pulled out. “Hey!”, she spat out in confusion. He spun her around again, picked her up and let her slide right back onto his cock.
He moved forward until she had the cold glass of the window in her back which caused her to inhale loudly and she wrapped her arms around his neck. “I want to see your face when you come”, he mumbled and pressed his lips against hers. She immediately opened her mouth and let in his tongue, eagerly sucking and playing with it.
“I’m going to come”, she mumbled into his mouth. Sebastian pulled his head back. He pressed her against the window while he fucked her hard and fast and Anna started to see stars. She wanted to close her eyes because she didn’t know if she had the strength to keep them open, but she knew how much it turned him on to watch her come. So she concentrated on his face, locked eyes with him, sinking into his stare, much like she was in trance. She entangled her fingers in his hair.
Anna felt her orgasm come in such big waves that her breath got caught in her throat and a deep guttural sound came out of her mouth as she came around his big, hard cock. Her nails dug deep into the skin of his shoulder. She inhaled loudly as she was able to breathe again and actually saw little stars in front of her eyes. “Oh god!”, she groaned loudly.
Sebastian carried her over to the bed and put her down without pulling out. He placed her right at the edge so he could keep standing up straight as he continued to fuck her. Anna wasn’t sure but it looked like he didn’t come yet. He held her legs up by her ankles as he pounded into her dripping pussy that was still throbbing from the orgasm. Anna pulled her shirt and bra off. Her panties must have fallen off her ankle as he had picked her up.
“You…look…so…fucking…hot”, he grunted with every thrust, his disheveled hair made him look even sexier than he already did. His face was flushed and little drops of sweat glistened on his forehead. To know that she was responsible for the way he looked right now turned her on so much and she felt that warm feeling again. She didn’t even know that it was possible, although she had heard from multiple orgasms, but she always thought that this was an invention from Sex and the City.
“Sebastian”, she just said and it sounded like she was begging. He moved slower now, almost pulling out, just to thrust back in as deep as he could. “Oh god”, she moaned. Sebastian wasn’t able to form any words. He just grunted and concentrated on not coming too early. He could feel that she was on her way to come again and definitely wanted to see that happen. He pushed her up on the bed and followed right away. He wanted to be close to her when she came again, just like before. He wanted to stare right into her eyes, feeling her melt in his arms, moaning his name.
“Come for me, Anna. Come for me”, he mumbled at her ear, his hips starting to move uncontrollably. He knew he couldn’t hold it much longer without exploding. Sebastian lowered his head and sucked her hard nipple, biting it. Annas breathing became heavier and louder and he could feel her walls tightening around him. Oh fuck!
He couldn’t hold it back any longer and pounded hard into her as he came with a loud and deep grunt. The feeling of her walls clenching around him made him come so hard like he didn’t have sex in months. It was unbelievable what this woman could do to him.
Even minutes later, both were breathing heavily, lying next to each other. Anna was still wearing her heels and her skirt was rolled up at her waist. “That was unbelievable”, she said. Out of the corner of her eye she saw how he just nodded, not ready to form any words yet.
Anna wanted to remove her shoes and skirt but she didn’t know if she was even supposed to. Last time, Sebastian left her room almost right after they were finished. Now she wondered if it was her turn to get dressed and leave.
She probably should, right now, and not drag it out until it would be embarrassing. Because tomorrow would be embarrassing enough when she was back at work.
“Don’t you want to take off your shoes? Or do you want to sleep in them?”, he suddenly asked and she looked over to him. “Do you want me to stay?”, she asked and hoped it didn’t sound too hopeful. “If you want to…I hate sleeping alone”, he said with a smirk and moved his face closer so he could kiss her gently on her lips. “I guess, I could help you with that”, she smiled and kissed him back.
Then she rolled over and got off the bed. She stepped out of her high heels and pulled down her skirt, well aware that she was full on showing her naked ass, but it was dark, just a few street lights providing the room with a soft light.
Sebastian pulled up the blanket from beneath him and held it open for Anna when she crawled back in. She cuddled up to Sebastian, resting her head on his shoulder. The little light in the room allowed her to see the bite mark she had left on him last night. She followed the little half circle with her finger. Sebastian put his hand up to touch the part of her skin where he had bitten her today. “A bite for a bite”, he said and Anna chuckled.
All of a sudden she felt very tired and worn out. Staying up that late and two orgasms really took their toll. “Goodnight, Sebastian”, she mumbled at his shoulder and wrapped her arm around his waist. “Goodnight, Anna”, he whispered and wrapped his arm, the one she was lying on, around her back.
She took a deep breath of his scent. She would enjoy every second of having him that close to her. It would end soon enough when they would part ways tomorrow after the Con. She also didn’t want to think about the consequences she would have to face if anyone found out about them, she would have time to deal with it tomorrow.
This moment right now belonged to her and Sebastian. She snug up to him even closer and a few moments later drifted off into a deep, well earned sleep.

Bird Brain In The Hospital
Warning: Injured Reader, Mentions Of Tongue Kissing, Swears Casually Sprinkled In. The Good Stuff.
Fandom: My Hero Academia
Pairing: Keigo Takami (Hawks) x Sidekick!Reader
“Well, well, well, glad to see you’re still alive after a fall like that,” Keigo laughed as he entered your hospital room, still dressed in his hero attire. Those bright red wings gave a soft flap as he walked over to your bedside and pulled up a chair. Groaning as he took his seat. Sitting there with his legs spread, his elbows resting atop his knees, his body hunched over. Those bright eyes of his staring at you before he spoke again, “I’m almost disappointed to see you awake, I had a little bet going on with Endeavor, could have saved me a couple bucks. You know?” You turned your head which still ached, sometimes you weren’t sure if you hated or loved Keigo. You had been his sidekick for a long time now and your relationship was a little up and down.
Some days, something would just click and Keigo couldn’t keep his hands off you and you loved days like that. His sweet kisses, his wandering hands and if you were lucky, bedroom antics. But still, on certain days like this. You couldn’t stand his bossy, humorous attitude. Taking a serious situation and making a joke out of it. You had gotten seriously injured, not only did your head take a hit. But you had various cuts and bruises across your body. Your wrist was in a splint and your leg was in a cast. But here Keigo was, making fun of your well being. You growled softly and crossed your arms over your chest. Glaring at the birdman who only seemed to find amusement in your anger, returning it with a smirk that you would love to slap off his face.
“Hah, hah, you’re so funny.” You scuffed and reached over to throw your pillow at him. “Hey, hey now!” He chuckled as the pillow hit him, but he made no move to pick it up from the floor. “No abusing the handsome merchandise.” You rolled your eyes at his comment and laid back against your bed which was a tad uncomfortable without that stupid pillow. “Not to mention your mentor, you shouldn’t abuse the person teaching you how to be a great hero right or do I have to remind you the hard way which is typically the funnier option if you ask me.” You said nothing in response, your head turned away from the man and your arms still crossed over your chest. You knew you might be acting childish, but how could he honestly joke about this, about you?
You heard the chair move, the sound of those metal legs scraping across the floor made you cringe. “Okay, I might be sensing some tension ...lighten the fuck up already.” Keigo’s voice held some frustration but despite that. He leaned over you, though you still refused to look at him. “Come on, fucking killjoy sit up.” You remained still and Keigo reached down to push your shoulder. “Come on I said sit up already, you’ll be more comfortable using your pillow for its actual purpose rather than a throwing weapon.” He insisted though you could tell by the flat tone of his voice that he was growing impatient with you. Sighing, you dropped your arms and carefully sat up. “You’re the one cracking jokes about my well being, do you think I purposely got injured?” You growled as Keigo adjusted the pillow behind your back, fluffing it before he leaned back up.
He looked down at you, his eyebrow raised as if you had just asked a stupid question. Then, he did something you didn’t expect. He crossed his arms over his chest, his wings flapping again and a few loose feathers fell onto your bed. “You say that as if I enjoy seeing my perfect little sidekick like this, well ...I have news for you, sweetie.” He said as he leaned down to your face, something that always made you blush. It didn’t matter how much time you spent with Keigo, whenever he got this close you would always flush. Still, you couldn’t tear your eyes away from those golden orbs. “I don’t like seeing you like this, but I figured you would have guessed that shit by now.” You dropped your arms before glancing down, well ...Keigo was a hard man to read!
How the hell could you even tell he was upset that you had gotten hurt with all those damn jokes, plus he acted like this was a normal occurrence. You gasped when you felt his gloved hand take hold of your chin and gently force your head up. An action that made your heart race and you were thankful that you weren’t currently hooked up to a heart monitor, else Keigo could be able to tell just how shy you felt around him. Keigo however chuckled and leaned closer, nuzzling his nose against yours. “Ah ...” You didn’t know what else to say, your thoughts were scattered and you could feel Keigo’s hot breath against your face as he spoke. “I bet I could do a little something that would make you feel better.” You felt your mouth go dry, following the movement of his eyes as they shifted.
“W-What would ...t-that be?” You questioned, though part of you was too damn nervous to find out. “Hm ...maybe this,” Keigo whispered as he pressed his lips against yours, causing you to gasp. “Mm!” His hand reached up, threading through your hair before resting it on the back of your head. He deepened the kiss which caused you to take a deep breath and a tingle ran down your spine. Slowly, you brought your hands up, grasping onto Keigo’s jacket. “Mm ...” You began to melt into the kiss before Keigo pulled away, making you whine in response. “Hey, hey relax. Might want to close your eyes, my little sidekick, it’s better that way.” You nodded and closed your eyes as he suggested. Keigo chuckled and you felt the bed dip next to you, maybe he was tired of standing.
Though his hand was still placed to the back of your head and you could hear him lean over again. “Mm, you’re certainly an obedient little thing when you want to be. Is it my kisses that make you like this? Hm, maybe I’ll have to try this little tactic more often huh?” Though your eyes were closed, you still rolled them. “Shut u-mm!” Your words were silenced when Keigo pushed your head forward, allowing your lips to collide once again. You moaned as his tongue seized the opportunity to slip into your mouth, circling along the top of your teeth before brushing against your tongue. Your fingers tightened on Keigo’s jacket and you moaned softly as your tongues danced together. Though the great hero Hawks could never stand to lose and proceeded to dominate over your attempts at tongue wrestling.
You gasped for air when he pulled away, saliva dripping from your lips and a small string connected your lips to Keigo’s. Your face was flushed and your heart was racing, damn ...Keigo knew exactly what to do to make you go crazy. “Ah!” You cried out, your hands dropping from that jacket to wrap around Keigo’s shoulders instead. Your wrist brace scratches along his back as he leaned up, placing sloppy and desperate kissing along your neck and jawline. Soft pants were coming from the hero as his lips finally reached your ear and you shivered as he whispered. “If you didn’t look like the daughter of a mummy right now, I might even go further,” He paused and pressed a kiss to your ear which made you whimper in response, “than this ...” Keigo chuckled before pulling away, smirking at you looking so shocked and flushed.
“But I can’t, you see sweetie if I were to injure you further. Well fuck me, they’d sue and frankly, I don’t want to be known as the guy that has sex in ...hospital settings. Not really my thing.” Though you wanted to huff and glare at him, you still so dazed from the kiss. Keigo retracted his hand and chuckled, “You know I really do like you like this, dazed and under my spell. Who the fuck would think I had that power over such ...a small mind?” That comment seemed to break through to you and you reached over to slap his shoulder with your good hand. “Bastard ...” You hissed which only made Keigo laugh again, somehow you were always such a comedian to him. “Yup that’s me, your favorite friendly neighborhood bastard with the glorious face and wings.” That earned a soft chuckle from you, though a sigh soon left your lips.
How long were you going to be here anyway? You looked down at your leg cast, the thing was so heavy you couldn’t even move your leg if you wanted to. Keigo seemed to notice your ...unhappy expression and laid his hand on your head. “Hey, cheer up kid! If it means anything, well you’re a pretty good sidekick. Well, at least the one that’s been the least amount of pain in my ass. Though those kisses and sexual moments seem to even out the negative.” You looked at him with a blank expression, was that supposed to make you feel better? You shook your head and looked away, feeling his hand retract. “Okay, I see how it fucking is then ...let me see ...positive words, positive words ...” Keigo placed his hand on his hip, the other tapping away at his chin.
A moment of silence passed before he seemed to think of something proper to say. “How about this, despite the fact that you’re my sidekick and quite younger than me, I do have feelings for you. In fact, when I saw you fall and I wasn’t able to fucking catch you. I found myself praying to the God I didn’t even know I believed in, that you were okay ...because the fact is ...” He paused and reached over to take your hand, squeezing it tight. You turned your head back, a little confused by his affectionate gesture. “I can’t live without you, I mean sure I could realistically. But, fuck if you don’t make my life interesting and I guess ...” He paused and for a moment, you could have sworn you saw the faintest of blush on his cheeks. “I guess I ...might have feelings for you ...you mean a lot to me okay? Don’t make me repeat that, being soft isn’t my thing either.” He dropped your hand and stood up from the bed, looking down at you with a serious glance.
“You get better soon, I have some business to take care of. But, eventually, I’ll need my sidekick back and I don’t feel like going through the pain in the ass process of finding a new one.” With that, he turned and walked to the door. Pausing just before sliding it open, he looked over his shoulder at you laying there. Broken and beaten, truthfully he hated himself for allowing it to happen. For allowing you to get hurt, for not protecting you. But this ‘business’ he was going to take care would at least level the playing field for those that did this to you. Of course, he wouldn’t let you know what he was planning. It was better if you didn’t know about his darker side. Still, you unknowingly nodded. “I will! I’ll be back by your side soon Hawks. Promise.” He glanced down before forcing a smile.
“Yeah, you do that. See you around. Don’t do anything stupid while I’m gone.” He said as he finally walked through the door, his mind burnt with the image of you. Those villains would pay.
